Detection of cellular aging in a Galton-Watson process [PDF]
We consider the bifurcating Markov chain model introduced by Guyon to detect cellular aging from cell lineage. To take into account the possibility for a cell to die, we use an underlying Galton-Watson process to describe the evolution of the cell lineage.

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Macromere cell fates during sea urchin development [PDF]
This paper examines the cell lineage relationships and cell fates in embryos of the sea urchin Strongylocentrotus purpuratus leading to the various cell types derived from the definitive vegetal plate territory or the veg_2 tier of cells.

A visible light‐responsive polyacrylamide‐azobenzene hydrogel enables safe, reversible stiffness control for studying cell mechanobiology without harmful UV exposure. This approach reveals stem cells respond rapidly to mechanical changes, showing altered shape and protein distribution within one hour.

Compression and In-Situ Query Processing for Fine-Grained Array Lineage [PDF]
Tracking data lineage is important for data integrity, reproducibility, and debugging data science workflows. However, fine-grained lineage (i.e., at a cell level) is challenging to store, even for the smallest datasets. This paper introduces DSLog, a storage system that efficiently stores, indexes, and queries array data lineage, agnostic to capture ...

The PVA‐GA hydrogel is formed through hydrogen bonding between PVA hydroxyl groups and GA galloyl units, enabling sustainable GA release and its extended biological activity. The hydrogel scavenges ROS to reduce oxidative stress, preventing mitochondrial damage from excessive ROS, mitigating hADSC senescence, and preserving VEGF secretion, offering a ...

Towards an understanding of lineage specification in hematopoietic stem cells: A mathematical model for the interaction of transcription factors GATA-1 and PU.1 [PDF]
In addition to their self-renewal capabilities, hematopoietic stem cells guarantee the continuous supply of fully differentiated, functional cells of various types in the peripheral blood. The process which controls differentiation into the different lineages of the hematopoietic system (erythroid, myeloid, lymphoid) is referred to as lineage ...

This study presents a custom‐made soft pneumatic device (SPD) that mimics complex mechanical forces and fluid flow to enhance in vitro cell differentiation. It shows that low mechanotransduction promotes MSC differentiation into osteoprogenitor cells, while high mechanotransduction causes structural disruptions and cell detachment, providing new ...
