The nucleus has long been postulated to play a critical physical role during cell polarization and migration, but that role has not been defined or rigorously tested.

CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) preparations are widely used in clinical practice and recent data suggest that commercially available HA-based compounds promote ulcer re-epithelialization and induce pain relief.

A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Sirt1 and cell migration [PDF]
Sirt1 is a type III histone deacetylase implicated in a wide range of physiological and pathophysiological roles. Acting though a myriad of non-histone substrates, Sirt1 modulates transcriptional regulation of energy metabolism and stress response, with important consequences on cell survival and a myriad of human pathologies.

Cell Migration, Freshly Squeezed [PDF]
Migrating cells exhibit distinct motility modes and can switch between modes based on chemical or physical cues. Liu et al. and Ruprecht et al. now describe how confinement and contractility influence motility mode plasticity and instigate a mode termed stable bleb migration in embryonic and tumor cells.

Integrins in Cell Migration [PDF]
Integrins are cell-surface adhesion receptors that play a central role in regulating cell migration by mediating interactions between the extracellular matrix and the actin cytoskeleton. Substantial progress has been made in understanding the mechanisms by which the formation and breakdown of adhesions are regulated.
