Age-Dependent Human Hepatic Carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) and Carboxylesterase 2 (CES2) Postnatal Ontogeny [PDF]
Human hepatic carboxylesterase 1 and 2 (CES1 and CES2) are important for the disposition of ester- and amide-bond-containing pharmaceuticals and environmental chemicals. CES1 and CES2 ontogeny has not been well characterized, causing difficulty in addressing concerns regarding juvenile sensitivity to adverse outcomes associated with exposure to certain

Correlation Between Trough Plasma Dabigatran Concentrations and Estimates of Glomerular Filtration Rate Based on Creatinine and Cystatin C [PDF]
AIMS: Dabigatran is largely cleared by renal excretion. Renal function is thus a major determinant of trough dabigatran concentrations, which correlate with the risk of thromboembolic and haemorrhagic outcomes.

Dabigatran etexilate activation is affected by the CES1 genetic polymorphism G143E (rs71647871) and gender [PDF]
The oral anticoagulant prodrug dabigatran etexilate (DABE) is sequentially metabolized by intestinal carboxylesterase 2 (CES2) and hepatic carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) to form its active metabolite dabigatran (DAB). A recent genome-wide association study reported that the CES1 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) rs2244613 and rs8192935 were associated ...

Interpolation of Ces{\`a}ro sequence and function spaces
The interpolation property of Ces{\`a}ro sequence and function spaces is investigated. It is shown that $Ces_p(I)$ is an interpolation space between $Ces_{p_0}(I)$ and $Ces_{p_1}(I)$ for $1 < p_0 < p_1 \leq \infty$ and $1/p = (1 - \theta)/p_0 + \theta ...

Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacogenetics of Dabigatran
Dabigatran etexilate is a prodrug of dabigatran, a oral direct inhibitor of thrombin. Pharmacokinetics of dabigatran etexilate doesn’t have the disadvantages of vitamin K antagonists.

Novel Approach for CES1 Genotyping: Integrating Single Nucleotide Variants and Structural Variation [PDF]
Development of a specific procedure for genotyping of CES1A1 (CES1) and CES1A2, a hybrid of CES1A1 and the pseudogene CES1P1.The number of CES1A1 and CES1A2 copies and that of CES1P1 were determined using real-time PCR. Long range PCRs followed by secondary PCRs allowed sequencing of single nucleotide variants in CES1A1 and CES1A2.A procedure ...

The Personalization of Clopidogrel Antiplatelet Therapy: The Role of Integrative Pharmacogenetics and Pharmacometabolomics [PDF]
Dual antiplatelet therapy of aspirin and clopidogrel is pivotal for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. However, the variable platelets reactivity response to clopidogrel may lead to outcome failure and recurrence of cardiovascular ...

Bioactive lipid metabolism by carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) in macrophages (LB154)
Human carboxylesterases (CES) have an emerging role in lipid metabolism. CES1 in macrophages is a hydrolase with broad endogenous substrate specificity, including cholesteryl ester, triacylglycerol, and 2‐arachidonoylglycerol (2‐AG), which may be relevant to cardiovascular disease and other pathologies related to lipid metabolism dysfunction.

Fluorogenic chemical tools to shed light on CES1-mediated adverse drug interactions. [PDF]
Studying factors that cause interindividual variability of carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) activity is currently difficult due to limited methods. To address this, fluorogenic chemical tools that can monitor CES1 activity in live cells were developed.
