Analysis of Flavanone 3-Hydroxylase in Arabidopsis Seedlings (Coordinate Regulation with Chalcone Synthase and Chalcone Isomerase) [PDF]
Abstract A genomic clone encoding flavanone 3-hydroxylase (F3H) was isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana. The deduced amino acid sequence is 72 to 94% identical to all previously reported F3H proteins. Low-stringency DNA blot analysis indicated that F3H is encoded by a single gene in Arabidopsis.

UV-B radiation enhances isoflavone accumulation and antioxidant capacity of soybean calluses
Isoflavones are a class of flavonoids that belong to a large family of polyphenols and synthesized predominantly in legume, and they play important roles including acting as antioxidant, preventing osteoporosis, reducing the risk of atherosclerosis, and ...

A cDNA Encoding Chalcone Isomerase from Aged Pea Epicotyls [PDF]
One of the defense mechanisms employed by plants in response to stress stimuli involves the accumulation of protective molecules, such as flavonones, around the affected regions (Schmelzer et al., 1989). Flavonoids represent an important class of inducible compounds and function as pigments, UV absorbants, and phytoalexins (Hahlbrock and Griesbach ...

Abstract BACKGROUND Grapevine phenolic compounds play key roles in plant defense and wine quality. Composition depends on factors such as maturity and infections such as grey mold caused by Botrytis cinerea. Grapevines respond to infections by actively modifying their phenolic profile.
