Mechanisms of XCR1 Membrane Trafficking and Constitutive Endocytosis [PDF]

open access: yesBasic Clin Pharmacol Toxicol
ABSTRACT Chemokines orchestrate immune cell trafficking through receptor‐mediated signalling and are implicated in inflammatory, autoimmune and neuropathic disorders. The XCL1–XCR1 axis is of particular interest because XCR1 is selectively expressed on mature conventional type 1 dendritic cells (cDC1s), where it supports communication with activated ...

Molecular evidence for the existence of two distinct IL-8 lineages of teleost CXC-chemokines

open access: yes
Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a CXC-type chemokine with a chemotactic activity mainly on neutrophils and plays a key role in promoting inflammation. In teleosts, several CXC-chemokines have been cloned and characterized as being IL-8-like.

Role of Extracellular Vesicles in Shaping Immune Responses in the Lymph Node Microenvironment

open access: yesBiology of the Cell, Volume 118, Issue 10, October 2026.
Functional alliances of stromal, innate and adaptive immune cells in EV immunity in the lymph node. EV reflect the phenotype of their mother cell and cluster material from their surroundings. In the lymph node, EV preserve valuable context information between multiple cellular effectors to coordinate immunity in adaption to change.

Integrative Multi‐Omics and Experimental Validation Define RELB as an Immune‐Related Prognostic Driver in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesChemical Biology &Drug Design, Volume 108, Issue 4, October 2026.
Integrated multi‐omics identified key genes associated with the immune microenvironment in ovarian cancer, and functional assays validated the role of key genes in ovarian cancer. ABSTRACT Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the most aggressive gynecological malignancies worldwide.

Chemokines and Their Role in Parasitic Diseases

open access: yes, 2004
Chemotactic cytokines (chemokines), the intercellular mediators, produced and released by a wide variety of cell types, are a group of small secreted proteins (8–10 KDa), which mediate host response to invading organisms (viruses, bacteria, parasites ...

Zeb2 Controls Retinal Physiological and Pathological Angiogenesis by Regulating Astrocyte Proliferation and Differentiation

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 59, Issue 10, October 2026.
During development, the oxygen‐sensitive transcription factor Zeb2 restrains astrocyte proliferation and maturation to ensure balanced retinal angiogenesis. In disease, it promotes the neurotoxic A1 astrocyte phenotype and inflammation, thereby promoting reparative revascularization over pathological neovascularization.

Temporal relationships between circulating levels of CC and CXC chemokines and developing atherosclerosis in apolipoprotein E*3 Leiden mice

open access: yes, 2003
CC and CXC chemokines are implicated in leukocyte recruitment during development of atherosclerotic lesions, suggesting circulating levels of chemokines may be useful serum markers of atherogenesis.

Associations of Serum CIRP and CXCL5 With Prognosis and Neutrophil Extracellular Traps in Pediatric Mycoplasma pneumoniae Pneumonia

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 20, Issue 10, October 2026.
This study investigated serum levels of cold‐inducible RNA‐binding protein (CIRP) and C‐X‐C motif chemokine ligand 5 (CXCL5) in 485 children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. Elevated levels of both biomarkers were independently associated with poor prognosis and positively correlated with neutrophil extracellular trap markers, suggesting their ...

Updates in COPD Management: From Inflammatory Pathways to Targeted Therapies

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 56, Issue 10, October 2026.
COPD is a heterogeneous disease driven by overlapping neutrophilic and eosinophilic inflammatory pathways. This review highlights the shift from symptom‐based treatment toward phenotype‐ and biomarker‐directed care. Blood eosinophils, FeNO, and IgE predict corticosteroid responsiveness and identify candidates for biologic therapy.

CXC chemokine receptor type 5 may induce trophoblast dysfunction and participate in the processes of unexplained missed abortion, wherein p-ERK and interleukin-6 may be involved

open access: yesHeliyon
Chemokines regulate the trophoblast dysfunction involved in the occurrence and development of pathological pregnancy, including missed abortions. In particular, CXC chemokine receptor type 5 mediates cell proliferation, migration, and inflammation ...
