Striatal M4 muscarinic receptors determine the biological rhythm of activity, with a supportive role of M1 muscarinic receptors [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
IntroductionM4 muscarinic receptor (mAChR) knockout changed the female activity biological rhythm parameters. In this study, we focus on the biological rhythms of mAChRs (total + M1 mAChRs), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), and butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE ...

Organ-Specific Phytochemical Composition and Bioactivity Profiling of Chaerophyllum aksekiense: A Multiassay Antioxidant, Enzyme Inhibition, and Correlation-Based Evaluation. [PDF]

open access: yesChemistryOpen
This study reveals the organ‐specific phytochemical specialization of the endemic Chaerophyllum aksekiense for the first time. Although leaves exhibit the highest phenolic content and antioxidant capacity, flowers stand out with flavonoid accumulation, and roots demonstrate potent enzyme inhibition.

The Role of Cholinesterases in Post-Exercise HRV Recovery in University Volleyball Players

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Some studies show interest in measuring heart rate variability (HRV) during post-exercise recovery. It is known that the parasympathetic system is relevant during this process, where one of the factors of this modulation is the interaction of ...

Forager bees (Apis mellifera) highly express immune and detoxification genes in tissues associated with nectar processing. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Pollinators, including honey bees, routinely encounter potentially harmful microorganisms and phytochemicals during foraging. However, the mechanisms by which honey bees manage these potential threats are poorly understood.
