Cytochrome P450 mediated metabolic activation of chrysophanol

Chemico-Biological Interactions, 2018
Chrysophanol, a major anthraquinone component occurring in many traditional Chinese herbs, is accepted as important active component with various pharmacological actions such as antibacterial and anticancer activity. Previous studies demonstrated that exposure to chrysophanol induced cytotoxicity, but the mechanisms of the toxic effects remain unknown.

Dyeing Behavior of Chrysophanol on Polyester Fiber

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
The dyeing properties of chrysophanol on polyester (PET) were investigated. Chrysopahnol was stable with the pH range of 3 to 7. And in this pH range, the hue of Chrysophanol of dyed polyester showed very little change. The K/S values increased significantly when the temperature was raised from 90°C to 110°C, and if the temperature was 110°C, the ...

Revenelin, chrysophanol, and helminthosporin, pigments fromDrechslera holmii andDrechslera ravenelii

Experimental Mycology, 1981
Abstract One xanthone and two anthraquinone pigments were isolated from Drechslera holmii and Drechslera ravenelii . The xanthone derivative was obtained in a pure state from ethyl acetate extracts of cultures by recrystallization and sublimation. The anthraquinones, present in very small amounts, were isolated using thin-layer chromatography.

A proton-activatable aminated-chrysophanol sensitizer for photodynamic therapy

Dyes and Pigments, 2017
Abstract Exploiting the tumor microenvironment provides a new strategy for cancer treatment. In order to develop the microenvironment-selective photosensitiser, we rationally designed a proton-activatable aminated-chrysophanol derivative-compound 3, which combines fluorescence and reactive oxygen species regulated by the tumor acidic microenvironment

Chrysophanol delays aging via insulin/IGF-1 signaling pathway

Free Radical Biology and Medicine
Aging is inevitable processes which play a significant role in the development of various diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancers. The extension of lifespan and the improvement of age-related diseases can potentially be achieved by targeting evolutionarily conserved pathways and mechanisms through ...

A convenient synthesis of isotopically labelled anthraquinones, chrysophanol, islandicin, and emodin. Incorporation of [methyl-2H3]chrysophanol into tajixanthone in Aspergillus variecolor

Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1987
Cycloaddition reactions of labelled 6-methoxy-3-methyl-2-pyrone (1) with naphthoquinones provide the common fungal anthraquinones, chrysophanol (2), islandicin (3), and emodin (4) suitably labelled for biosynthetic studies, as demonstrated by synthesis and incorporation of [methyl-2H3]chrysophanol into the xanthone metabolite, tajixanthone (17) in ...

The potential antitumor effect of chrysophanol in relation to cervical cancer cells

Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, 2021
AbstractChrysophanol is an anthraquinone with proven antitumor activity against several tumor cell lines. However, its effect on cervical cancer cells is still unknown. Therefore, HeLa cells were exposed to various concentrations of chrysophanol and then subjected to biochemical, ultrastructural, and morphological analysis. It has been shown using flow

ChemInform Abstract: BIOGENETIC‐TYPE SYNTHESES OF EMODIN AND CHRYSOPHANOL

Chemischer Informationsdienst, 1976
