1‐Hydroxy‐xanthine derivatives inhibit the human Caf1 nuclease and Caf1‐containing nuclease complexes via Mg2+‐dependent binding

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2019
In eukaryotic cells, cytoplasmic mRNA is characterised by a 3′ poly(A) tail. The shortening and removal of poly(A) tails (deadenylation) by the Ccr4‐Not nuclease complex leads to reduced translational efficiency and RNA degradation.

Multi‐omics revealed that DCP1A and SPDL1 determine embryogenesis defects in postovulatory ageing oocytes

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 58, Issue 3, March 2025.
Construct postovulatory ageing protein map to deeply analyse the dynamic changes of postovulatory ageing proteins. DCP1A accumulation accelerates maternal mRNA decay in postovulatory‐aged oocytes. SPDL1 is crucial for maintaining spindle/chromosome structure and chromosome euploidy in PostOA oocytes.

Methyltransferase‐Like 3‐Mediated N6‐Methyladenosine Modification on RNAs: A Novel Perspective for the Pathogenesis and Treatment of Bone Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 29, Issue 5, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and osteosarcoma are prevalent osseous pathologies associated with the aberrant functionality of chondrocytes, osteoclasts, and osteoblasts, respectively. These conditions frequently exhibit therapeutic resistance and possess a high mortality risk, thus representing substantial health threats.

Osteoarthritis Bone Marrow MSCs Retain Regenerative Competence and Chemokine Responsiveness for Drug‐Based In Situ Tissue Engineering

open access: yesStem Cells International, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Background Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) support tissue repair in osteoarthritis (OA), with migration to damaged tissue being a key strategy in in situ tissue engineering. Their regenerative potential depends on factors such as differentiation, level of senescence, and responsiveness to signaling molecules.

Admixture mapping of cognitive function in diverse Hispanic and Latino adults: Results from the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 20, Issue 9, Page 6070-6081, September 2024.
Abstract INTRODUCTION We conducted admixture mapping and fine‐mapping analyses to identify ancestry‐of‐origin loci influencing cognitive abilities. METHODS We estimated the association of local ancestry intervals across the genome with five neurocognitive measures in 7140 diverse Hispanic and Latino adults (mean age 55 years).

Combined Transcriptome and Proteome Analysis of Immortalized Human Keratinocytes Expressing Human Papillomavirus 16 (HPV16) Oncogenes Reveals Novel Key Factors and Networks in HPV-Induced Carcinogenesis

open access: yesmSphere, 2019
Although the role of high-risk human papillomaviruses (hrHPVs) as etiological agents in cancer development has been intensively studied during the last decades, there is still the necessity of understanding the impact of the HPV E6 and E7 oncogenes on ...
