Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.

Anchoring Fibrils and Type VII collagen are Absent From Skin in Severe Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa

open access: yes, 1989
Skin of patients with severe generalized recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (SGRDEB) was studied by immunoelectron microscopy and immunoblotting with antibodies to type VII collagen, a major structural component of anchoring fibrils.

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Type VII collagen is visualized within corpora amylacea (T8100).

open access: yes, 2016
Immuno-electron microscopic image of the inner plexiform layer of a human retina. Immunogold-labeled polyclonal antibody directed against type VII collagen labels two corpora amylacea diffusely.

Lymphoid‐Tissue‐on‐Chip Recapitulates Human Antibody Responses In Vitro

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The presented lymphoid‐tissue‐on‐chip system allows culture of primary human tonsil cells at organotypic high density under perfusion for up to 4 weeks, emulates immune response to soluble vaccines and vaccination via peripheral antigen‐presenting cells and represents a useful tool to assess cellular interactions during homeostasis, immune responses ...

An Exceedingly Rare Case of Mechanobullous Epidermolysis Bullosa Acquisita in a Prepubertal Child: A Review of the Clinical and Laboratory Considerations

open access: yesAntibodies
Introduction: Epidermolysis bullosa acquisita (EBA) is a rare autoimmune disease causing subepithelial blistering due to autoantibodies against type VII collagen.

The tissue form of type VII collagen is an antiparallel dimer.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1986
We recently reported the partial characterization of a new human collagen termed Type VII. This molecule is distinctive among the collagen family in that it contains three identical subunit alpha chains within a triple helical domain 424 nm in length.

Patients with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Develop Squamous-Cell Carcinoma Regardless of Type VII Collagen Expression

open access: yes, 2007
Recent data suggest that individuals with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) only develop squamous-cell carcinoma (SCC) in the presence of the NC1 domain of type VII collagen.

Liquid Metal Nanotransformers for Drug‐Resistant Pan‐Cancer Therapy in Patient‐Derived Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pan‐cancer therapies are severely limited in drug‐resistance patients due to genetic mutations and other factors, resulting in poor therapeutic outcomes and constrained clinical benefit. Liquid metal nanotransformers, a new class of shape‐transformable nanomaterials capable of dramatic morphological changes, offer a promising physical strategy to ...
