PARPi Combining Nanoparticle LIN28B siRNA for the Management of Malignant Ascites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that co‐inhibition of LIN28B and PARP using siLin28b/DSSP@lip‐PEG‐FA nanoparticles in combination with the PARP inhibitor BMN673 effectively suppresses the accumulation of malignant ascites associated with advanced cancers.

Homoisoflavanone Delays Colorectal Cancer Progression via DNA Damage‐Induced Mitochondrial Apoptosis and Parthanatos‐Like Cell Death

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Homoisoflavanone (HIF), a bioactive compound isolated from Polygonatum kingianum, selectively suppresses colorectal cancer progression by inducing DNA damage‐mediated mitochondrial apoptosis and parthanatos‐like cell death. HIF triggers mitochondrial dysfunction, including depolarized membrane potential, elevated ROS, and ATP depletion, while impairing

The Pro-Apoptotic Effects of Curcumin on HCT116 Colorectal Cancer Cells

open access: yesMidwestern Journal of Undergraduate Sciences
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide, often originating from benign polyps in the colon and rectum that may become malignant if left untreated. While current treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation are effective, they often come with severe side effects that impact patient quality of ...

Circ_DOCK1 regulates USP11 through miR-132-3p to control colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2021
Background Circular RNAs (circRNAs) take part in colorectal cancer malignancies. CircRNA dedicator of cytokinesis 1 (circ_DOCK1) is involved in colorectal cancer progression, but the mechanism underlying this circRNA that takes part in colorectal cancer ...

Selective Targeting of Tip Endothelial Cells as a Therapeutic Strategy for Tumor Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Doppel protein is selectively expressed in tip endothelial cells within the tumor vasculature, where it promotes tip cell motility and stabilizes the tip cell phenotype. Targeting Doppel with monoclonal antibodies disrupts this stabilization, impairs angiogenic sprouting, and reduces tumor angiogenesis, offering a selective and druggable switch for ...

Antiproliferative and Apoptotic Activity of Chamaecyparis obtusa Leaf Extract against the HCT116 Human Colorectal Cancer Cell Line and Investigation of the Bioactive Compound by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry-Based Metabolomics

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
Chamaecyparis obtusa (CO) belongs to the Cupressaceae family, and it is found widely distributed in Japan and Korea. In this study, the anti-proliferative activities of the methanol and water extracts of CO leaves against a human colorectal cancer cell ...

Disulfide‐Bridged Ru Complex–Mediated Photo‐Disulfidptosis for Colorectal Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, a binuclear ruthenium complex, RuSSRu was developed for efficient colorectal cancer (CRC) treatment. The synergistic interaction between disulfidptosis and lysosomal damage‐induced apoptosis induced by RuSSRu amplified tumor cell death. This innovative approach offers a potent therapeutic strategy for CRC.

Supervillin‐Mediated ZO‐1 Downregulation Facilitates Migration of Cisplatin‐Resistant HCT116 Colorectal Cancer Cells

open access: yesJournal of Cellular Biochemistry
ABSTRACTSupervillin (SVIL), the biggest member of the villin/gelsolin superfamily, has recently been reported to promote the metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma by stimulating epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). However, little is known about the roles of SVIL in the migration of colorectal cancer cells.
