Gemella morbillorum Promotes Colorectal Carcinogenesis: LPBDCP‐Mediated Invasion Activates Ras Signaling and Destabilizes p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes colorectal cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis. A global fecal metagenomic analysis identified Gemella morbillorum as a key contributor to the CRC‐associated microbiota. Fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed that Gemella morbillorum is enriched in CRC tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues.

Circular RNA-Associated Competing Endogenous RNA Network and Prognostic Nomogram for Patients With Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2019
Background: Genetic characteristics remain underutilized for establishing prognostic models for colorectal cancer (CRC). We explored the underlying regulatory mechanisms of circular RNAs (circRNAs) that act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) and ...

Gut Lactate Boosts Ruminococcus via Histone Lactylation to Mediate Time‐Restricted Feeding Protection in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TRF enriches Ruminococcus, a bacterial genus producing SCFAs, and activates the epithelial HIF‐1α signaling pathway. This mechanism protects the colonic mucosa from inflammatory insults in colitis models. Mechanistically, gut lactate production during starvation and refeeding mediates H4K12la, which increases SLC9A3 expression and creates an acidic gut

CD4+ Tregs Drive Post‐Ischemic Sprouting Angiogenesis via Endothelial YY1/MAML1 Reactivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microvascular complications of diabetes are chronic diseases of small vessels. We previously found that CD4+ regulatory T‐cells (Tregs) are markedly reduced in type 2 diabetes (T2D) after ischemic injury in both mice and humans, and that Treg deficiency in immunodeficient mice impairs vascular regeneration.

Circular RNA circNrip1 Interacts with SYNCRIP to Promote Neuropathic Pain by Stabilizing Tlr2 mRNA in Primary Sensory Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Model of circNrip1 (cNrip1) upregulation driving neuropathic pain mechanisms. After peripheral nerve injury, increased FUS triggers the formation and upregulation of cNrip1 in injured DRG neurons. Upregulated cNrip1 recruits SYNCRIP to the 3′‐UTR of Tlr2 mRNA by binding to both, thereby promoting SYNCRIP‐triggered Tlr2 mRNA stability and increasing ...

HMGA1 pseudogenes as oncogenic competitive endogenous RNAs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The High Mobility Group A family is composed of non-histone chromosomal proteins that orchestrate the assembly of the nucleoprotein complexes involved in gene transcription, replication, and chromatin structure. HMGA1 overexpression is a feature of human cancer, and has a causal role in cell transformation.

Lnc-TALC promotes O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase expression via regulating the c-Met pathway by competitively binding with miR-20b-3p

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Temozolomide resistance in glioblastoma is associated with MGMT overexpression. Here, the authors identify a lncRNA that is a competitive endogenous RNA for miR-20b-3p, which causes c-Met activation to modulate acetylation of histone H3 on MGMT promoter ...

Icariin Enhances the Enzymatic Activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase to Augment Akkermansia Abundance in Gut Microbiota for Improved PD‐1 Blockade Efficacy in Tumor Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Icariin promoted the growth of Akk by enhancing the activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase (Amuc_0920), which enhanced mucin utilization and provided a favorable nutrient environment for bacterial growth. This icariin‐mediated enrichment of Akk further reshaped the tumor microenvironment and promoted CD8+ T cell infiltration, ultimately synergizing with

Comprehensive analysis of a long non‑coding RNA‑mediated competitive endogenous RNA network in glioblastoma multiforme

open access: yesExperimental and Therapeutic Medicine, 2019
The present bioinformatics study focused on glioblastoma multiforme (GBM; grade IV glioma), a common and aggressive type of primary malignant brain tumor in adults. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) function as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNA) to regulate gene expression by interacting with microRNAs (miRNAs) in cancer.

NUP85 Mediates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress through the USP47/ASK1 Signaling Pathway to Regulate the Progression of Liver Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the present study, we have demonstrated that the NUP85‐USP47‐ASK1 signaling pathway may have regulated the progression of liver fibrosis through modulating ERS. Additionally, we have developed a CREKA‐coupled liposome to target delivery of MV, a pharmacological inhibitor of NUP85, to activated HSCs, thereby attenuating liver fibrosis. ABSTRACT Liver
