Two‐Dimensional Frameworks From Metal Oxo Clusters at Liquid Interfaces

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
A two‐dimensional analog of the hexagonally close‐packed UiO‐66 metal–organic framework is assembled as a Langmuir monolayer at liquid interfaces using preformed metal oxo clusters and tailor‐made organic linkers. Coordination‐driven self‐assembly governs film formation, while linker amphiphilicity confines growth to two dimensions.

Carbon/TiO2 Materials From Textile Waste: A Sustainable Approach for Dye Removal

open access: yesEnvironmental Quality Management, Volume 35, Issue 3, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT This study synthesized carbon/TiO2 composites from textile waste through titanium isopropoxide impregnation and calcination to address dye contamination in wastewater. The composites exhibited enhanced specific surface area and pore volume with higher TiO2 content.

Reducing data processing effort in camera trap density estimation: Extending the REST model by explicitly modelling animal detection processes

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 3, Page 850-862, March 2026.
Abstract Accurate and reliable estimation of wildlife population density is fundamental to effective conservation and management. While camera traps show potential for monitoring ground‐dwelling mammal densities, labour‐intensive data processing remains a significant constraint. Ideally, conservation efforts would benefit from the continuous monitoring

The fc fragment of IgMs binds C1q to activate the first step of the classical complement pathway, while inhibiting complement‐dependent cytotoxicity

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 5, Page 1358-1375, March 2026.
Multimeric IgM‐fragment crystallizable region (Fc) fragments retain the ability to bind C1q and initiate the classical complement pathway, leading to C4 activation and deposition in vitro. However, the Fc cores can also inhibit complement‐dependent cytotoxicity by competing with surface‐bound antibodies for C1q engagement.
