Symmetries and hidden symmetries of $(ε, d_L)$-twisted knot complements [PDF]
In this paper we analyze symmetries, hidden symmetries, and commensurability classes of $(\epsilon, d_L)$-twisted knot complements, which are the complements of knots that have a sufficiently large number of twists in each of their twist regions. These knot complements can be constructed via long Dehn fillings on fully augmented links complements.

Complement peptide receptors (version 2020.5) in the IUPHAR/BPS Guide to Pharmacology Database [PDF]
Complement peptide receptors (nomenclature as agreed by the NC-IUPHAR subcommittee on Complement peptide receptors [103]) are activated by the endogenous ~75 amino-acid anaphylatoxin polypeptides C3a and C5a, generated upon stimulation of the complement ...

Complement C3 serum levels in anorexia nervosa: a potential biomarker for the severity of disease? [PDF]
BackgroundAnorexia nervosa carries the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric disorder. Even the most critically ill anorexic patients may present with normal 'standard' laboratory values, underscoring the need for a new sensitive biomarker.

Tissue plasminogen activator mediates deleterious complement cascade activation in stroke. [PDF]
The use of intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) in the treatment of ischemic stroke is limited by its propensity to exacerbate brain edema and hemorrhage. The mechanisms underlying these deleterious effects of tPA remain incompletely understood.

Antimicrobial peptides and complement in neonatal hypoxia-ischemia induced brain damage [PDF]
Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a clinical condition in the neonate, resulting from oxygen deprivation around the time of birth. HIE affects 1-5/1000 live births worldwide and is associated with the development of neurological deficits ...

Inhibition of Plasma Kallikrein with Aprotinin in porcine endotoxin Shock [PDF]
Activation of the contact phase of coagulation has been implicated in the pathogenesis of septic shock. We wanted to determine if inhibition of plasma kallikrein can prevent arterial hypotension and liberation of kinins from kininogen, induced by an ...

Denaturation and unfolding of human anaphylatoxin C3a: an unusually low covalent stability of its native disulfide bonds. [PDF]
The complement C3a anaphylatoxin is a major molecular mediator of innate immunity. It is a potent activator of mast cells, basophils and eosinophils and causes smooth muscle contraction.

The “C3aR Antagonist” SB290157 is a Partial C5aR2 Agonist
Innate immune complement activation generates the C3 and C5 protein cleavage products C3a and C5a, defined classically as anaphylatoxins. C3a activates C3aR, while C5a activates two receptors (C5aR1 and C5aR2) to exert their immunomodulatory activities ...

Derivation of ligands for the complement C3a receptor from the C-terminus of C5a
The complement cascade is a highly sophisticated network of proteins that are well regulated and directed in response to invading pathogens or tissue injury. Complement C3a and C5a are key mediators produced by this cascade, and their dysregulation has been linked to a plethora of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

Price Discovery and Efficiency in Uniswap Liquidity Pools
ABSTRACT Using almost three years of minute‐level data, we show that the efficiency of Uniswap v3 is much improved relative to v2, and some v3 pools are approaching or even exceeding Bitstamp in terms of price discovery ability. Regression results suggest that the channels of influence for these improvements are an increase in informed liquidity ...
