Mast cells contribute to the pathogenesis of cutaneous vasculitis through complement C3 that is cleaved to C3b and then to iC3b by complement factor I. The receptor of iC3b, CD11b, is expressed on neutrophils and monocytes and CD14 on monocytes.

The Src‐Family Kinases Hck, Fgr and Lyn Drive Immune Complex‐Mediated Glomerulonephritis Through the Syk Tyrosine Kinase

The study aimed to test the role of three Src‐family kinases, Hck, Fgr, and Lyn in immune complex glomerulonephritis. Hck, Fgr, and Lyn were overexpressed in human lupus nephritis and mouse nephrotoxic nephritis. Combined genetic deficiency of the three kinases practically completely protected mice from nephrotoxic nephritis.

SUMMARYWe have investigated the cross-reactivity of various species in ncocpitope-specific methods for quantification of human complement aclivatlon products. In contrast to most other species examined, baboon showed a substantial cross-reactivity supporting a high degree of homology between human and bahoon complement.
