Effect of arthritic synovial fluids on the expression of immunomodulatory factors by mesenchymal stem cells: An explorative in vitro study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background:In diseased joints, the catabolic environment results in progressive joint damage. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can have immunomodulatory effects by secreting anti-inflammatory factors.

Additional Boundary Condition for the Wire Medium [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2006
In this paper, it is proved that the continuity of the tangential components of the average electric and magnetic fields is insufficient to describe the reflection of plane waves by a set of thin parallel wires embedded in a dielectric host using a homogenization approach.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Expression of Procollagen A1 Type I Induced by Two Different Dentine Bonding Systems in Human Pulp Fibroblasts

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inflammation, 2013
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of two different dentine bonding systems (DBSs) on primary cultures of human pulp fibroblasts (HPFs). Cell viability and procollagen α1 type I expression were investigated.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

POTENSI TRANSDIFERENSIASI SEL FIBROBLAS MENJADI SEL SARAF SECARA IN VITRO (Transdifferentiation Potency of Fibroblast Cell to Neuron Cell in Vitro)

open access: yesJurnal Kedokteran Hewan, 2016
The aim of this study was to examine the potency of fibroblast cells transdifferentiated to neuron cells in vitro. Newborn rat neuron conditioned medium (NBRN CM) was collected from neuron cells cultured with mDMEM without serum for 48 hours.
