Mechanisms of pulmonary fibrosis induced by core fucosylation in pericytes

The International Journal of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, 2017
Pulmonary fibrosis is a common outcome of a variety of pulmonary interstitial diseases, and myofibroblasts are the main culprit for this process. Recent studies have found that pericytes are one of the major sources of myofibroblasts; the transformation of which involves a complex process of activation of TGF-β/Smad2/3 and PDGFβ/Erk signaling pathways.

Simple Differentiation between Core-Fucosylated and Nonfucosylated Glycans by Capillary Electrophoresis

Analytical Biochemistry, 1996
Core-fucosylated glycans, derivatized with 2-aminoacridone, consistently migrate slower than the corresponding oligosaccharides which lack this fucose residue, using the micellar electrophoretic capillary chromatography conditions outlined in this study. alpha-Fucosidase digestion of glycans followed by CE analysis has allowed facile differentiation of

Site-Specific Analysis of Core and Antenna Fucosylation on Serum Glycoproteins

Analytical Chemistry
Fucosylation is an important structural feature of glycans and plays an essential role in the regulation of glycoprotein functions. Fucosylation can be classified into core- (CF) and antenna-fucosylation (AF, also known as (sialyl-) Lewis) based on the location on N-glycans, and they perform distinct biological functions.

Chemoenzymic synthesis of sialylated and fucosylated oligosaccharides having an N-acetyllactosaminyl core

Carbohydrate Research, 1993
Several sialylated and fucosylated oligosaccharides, based upon the N-acetyllactosaminyl core structure, have been synthesized from a single trisaccharide glycoside, beta-D-GlcNAc-(1-->3)-beta-D-Gal-(1-->4)-beta-D-GlcNAc-OCH2(CH2)++ +7CO2CH3, by the sequential use of several glycosyltransferases and one sialidase.

RACK1 inhibits ferroptosis of cervical cancer by enhancing SLC7A11 core-fucosylation

Glycoconjugate Journal
Receiver for Activated C Kinase 1 (RACK1) is a highly conserved scaffold protein that can assemble multiple kinases and proteins together to form complexes, thereby regulating signal transduction process and various cellular biological processes, including cell cycle regulation, differentiation, and immune response.

FUT8-mediated core fucosylation stabilizes TMEM67 to promote ciliogenesis

Journal of Cell Biology
Glycosylation of membrane proteins plays an essential role in diverse biological processes. However, it remains unknown whether this posttranslational modification occurs on ciliary membrane proteins. Herein, by mass spectrometry–based proteomic analysis, we demonstrate that multiple membrane proteins localized in the ciliary transition zone undergo ...

Identification of Core‐Fucosylated Glycoproteins by Single‐Step Truncation of N‐Glycans

Current Protocols
AbstractAlpha‐1,6 core fucosylation (CF) is a unique glycoform of N‐glycans, and studies showed that CF modifications are involved in the occurrence and progression of various diseases and may provide potential disease biomarkers. Current strategies for the CF glycoproteome are often based on multistep enrichment of glycoproteins or glycopeptides and ...
