Mesalazine solubility in supercritical carbon dioxide with and without cosolvent and modeling
In this study, the solubility of mesalazine in supercritical carbon dioxide with and without cosolvent was carried out for the first time at different temperatures and pressure values ranging from 308 to 338 K and 12 to 30 MPa, respectively. The determined experimental molar solubilities of mesalazine in supercritical carbon dioxide were in the range ...

Effect of cosolvent and surfactant on the solubility and stability of citral in a beverage model
To evaluate how triacetin and surfactant affect the solubilization and stability of citral, solutions containing citral were prepared with polyoxyethylene stearyl ethers and triacetin. Triacetin had a significant impact on the increment of saturation concentration of citral, and the citral solubility increased as surfactants were added.

Prediction of a Broad Spectra of Membrane Morphologies Through a New NIPS Thermo‐Kinetic Model
This work presents a novel semiempirical mathematical approach consisting of a coupled thermo‐kinetic model as valuable tool for predicting the polymeric fraction profile of membranes synthesized by nonsolvent induced phase separation (NIPS). Equilibrium binodal curves (BCs) of the system component were incorporated to the Fick’s diffusive kinetic ...

The purpose of this study was to prepare a novel paclitaxel (PTX) microemulsion containing a reduced amount of Cremophor EL (CrEL) which had similar pharmacokinetics and antitumor efficacy as the commercially available PTX injection, but a significantly reduced allergic effect due to the CrEL.

A review is presented of original multidimensional, intermediate‐scale experiments involving nonaqueous phase liquid (NAPL) flow behavior, imaging, and detection and quantification with solute tracers. In a companion paper (Oostrom et al., 2006a), experiments related to aqueous dissolution and enhanced remediation were discussed.

A fugacity approach for generating a landfill gas trace component source term. [PDF]
The quality of risk assessment output is determined by the input data used in environmental distribution, dispersion and exposure models. Whilst recent focus has been on the development of regulatory exposure assessment models for landfills, risk ...
