Enthalpy-entropy compensation analysis of the triclocarban dissolution process in some {1,4-dioxane (1)?+?water (2)} mixtures

open access: yes, 2018
The equilibrium solubility of triclocarban in {1,4-dioxane (1) + water (2)} mixtures at 293.15 K to 313.15 K was reported. Mole fraction solubility increases continuously from neat water to neat 1,4-dioxane at all temperatures.

Increasing the Equilibrium Solubility of Meloxicam in Aqueous Media by Using Dimethyl Sulfoxide as a Cosolvent: Correlation, Dissolution Thermodynamics and Preferential Solvation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Meloxicam is widely prescribed as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug in human therapeutics. Owing the very low aqueous solubility of meloxicam, this property has been studied in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)-aqueous solvent systems at several ...

The Influence of Cosolvent Polarity on the Flow Properties of Hydroalcoholic Gels. Empirical Models

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2005
The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of cosolvent polarity on the rheological flow properties of aqueous and hydroalcoholic gels obtained from the Carbopol Ultrez 10 base and used for topical applications. Specifically, we have examined the effect of pH (range 4.0--7.0) on the consistency and flow properties of dispersed systems in ...

Physicochemical Characterization and Cyclodextrin Complexation of the Anticancer Drug Lapatinib

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
Lapatinib (LAP), the tyrosine kinase inhibitor drug with moderate bioavailability, was characterized in terms of physicochemical properties: acid‐base characteristics, lipophilicity, and solubility. The highly lipophilic nature of the drug and its extremely low water solubility (S0 = 0.82 nM) limit the development of a parenteral formulation.
