Post-translational modifications of voltage-gated sodium channels in chronic pain syndromes. [PDF]
In the peripheral sensory nervous system the neuronal expression of voltage-gated sodium channels (Navs) is very important for the transmission of nociceptive information since they give rise to the upstroke of the action potential (AP).

Molecular Mechanisms of Chronic Pain and Therapeutic Interventions
We offer a comprehensive overview of the distinctive molecular mechanisms underlying nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic pain, including the immune responses, ion channels, monoaminergic imbalance, and neuroinflammation. Subsequently, we summarized the status quo of nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic pain managementmanipulation.

An update on transcriptional and post-translational regulation of brain voltage-gated sodium channels [PDF]
Voltage-gated sodium channels are essential proteins in brain physiology, as they generate the sodium currents that initiate neuronal action potentials.

Figure S2: Site-specific O-GlcNAc-CRMP2 antibody (OG-CRMP2) recognises Ser517 O-GlcNAcylated CRMP2 in vitro and in vivo. (a) Western blot on in vitro glycosylated recombinant CRMP2 using the OG-CRMP2 antibody. Lack of signal on non-O-GlcNAcylated and Ser517Ala CRMP2 samples indicates that the antibody is specific. (b) Western blot on mouse brain lysate

Dual role for pannexin 1 at synapses: regulating functional and morphological plasticity
Abstract figure legend Pannexin 1 (PANX1) regulation of dendritic spines. The postnatal decrease in PANX1 expression could release key spine cytoskeleton‐regulating proteins enabling spine stabilization. Does the physiological decrease in neuronal PANX1 levels across brain development underlie dendritic spine maturation?

This study highlights the strong correlation between functional language lateralization and gray matter structure, revealing how hemispheric asymmetries in language influence memory organization. Targeted language laterality indices (LIs) provide effective discrimination between temporal lobe epilepsy patients and matched healthy participants, with the

Calcium dysregulation is a key pathological event in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). In studying approaches to mitigate this calcium overload, we identified the collapsin response mediator protein 2 (CRMP2), an axonal guidance protein that participates in ...

Recruitment, Retainment, and Biomarkers of Response:A Pilot Trial of Lithium in Humans With Mild Cognitive Impairment [PDF]
Lithium has been used for decades to treat Bipolar Disorder. Some of its therapeutic benefits may be through inhibition of Glycogen Synthase Kinase (GSK)-3. Enhanced GSK3 activity associates with development of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), therefore lithium

Evaluation of edonerpic maleate as a CRMP2 inhibitor for pain relief [PDF]
We have previously reported that the microtubule-associated collapsin response mediator protein 2 (CRMP2) is necessary for the expression of chronic pain. CRMP2 achieves this control of nociceptive signaling by virtue of its ability to regulate voltage-gated calcium and sodium channels. To date, however, no drugs exist that target CRMP2.
