Svrha je istraživanja bilo razvijanje ljestvice za mjerenje tržišne vrijednosti marke sa stanovišta potrošača. Kao osnova upotrijebljen je Kellerov model tržišne vrijednosti marke, pa su stoga za mjerenje tržišne vrijednosti marke upotrijebljene četiri dimenzije: poznatost marke i snaga, preferiranost i jedinstvenost asocijacija na marku.
