The LAV‐BPIFB4‐Platelet‐CD47 Axis: A Novel Mechanism Associated With Immune Resilience in Longevity

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
Centenarians display elevated CD47+ reticulated platelets, a trait recapitulated in LAV‐BPIFB4 carriers on total platelet pool. LAV‐BPIFB4 drives an early acquirement of CD47 surface expression, enabling platelets to suppress monocyte IL‐6 release. rhLAV‐BPIFB4 phenocopies the effects in non‐genetic carriers, establishing the platelet–CD47–monocyte ...

Engineering Extracellular Vesicles for Anti‐Aging Therapy: Mechanisms, Applications, and Perspectives

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
This review systematically elucidates the multifactorial anti‐aging mechanisms of extracellular vesicles (EVs). By bridging fundamental biology with advanced bioengineering, scalable manufacturing, and clinical translation, it establishes a comprehensive framework for developing next‐generation EVs‐based precision nanotherapeutics to combat systemic ...

Plasma Protein Analysis for Biomarker Discovery in Lung Cancer Treated With Atezolizumab Combination Therapy in J‐TAIL‐2

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 7, Page 1948-1960, July 2026.
BLURB FOR ETOC: The J‐TAIL‐2 study (NCT04501497) evaluated the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab, an anti‐programmed death‐ligand 1, plus chemotherapy in patients with non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and extensive‐stage small cell lung cancer (ES‐SCLC) in real‐world settings.

Behind the scenes: how the EMILIN/Multimerin family shapes the cancer landscape

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 13, Page 3991-4013, July 2026.
The EMILIN/Multimerin family members regulate key hallmarks of cancer—including apoptosis, angiogenesis, metastasis, and tumor microenvironment remodeling. As indicated, their function in immune evasion, drug resistance, and metabolic reprogramming remains largely unexplored.

Ovarian hormones and high‐fat diet duration distinctively modulate hypothalamic chemokine profile

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Excessive intake of saturated fats triggers inflammation in the hypothalamus, a key regulator of energy balance. In the chronic phase of this inflammatory response, bone marrow‐derived and lymphoid cells are chemoattracted to this region, partially mitigating high‐fat diet (HFD)‐induced metabolic impairments.
