Microglia Mitochondria Support Neuronal Maturation via Metabolic and Transcriptional Reprogramming in Human 3D In Vitro Brain Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
xx xx. ABSTRACT Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by disrupted neuronal circuit maturation. Emerging evidence implicates microglial function and mitochondrial regulation as contributors to ASD‐associated biology, yet the mechanisms linking these processes to neuronal development remain poorly defined ...

Oral Streptococcus salivarius Couples Neutrophil IRGM1 Signaling to NET Formation and Colorectal Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
The oral bacterium Streptococcus salivarius promotes colorectal cancer metastasis by inducing neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation. Mechanistically, IRGM1–IQGAP1 interaction activates Wnt5a–PI3K/AKT signaling in neutrophils, driving NET‐mediated tumor progression.

Dysregulation of the PATZ1/CTCF Balance Silences ZBTB20 to Drive Melanoma Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
This study uncovers a new oncogenic mechanism in melanoma. The transcription factor PATZ1 competes with the architectural protein CTCF for DNA binding, thereby disrupting a specific chromatin loop and silencing the tumor suppressor ZBTB20. This event unleashes the pro‐tumorigenic PMEPA1‐p38‐STAT1 signaling axis, promoting cancer progression.

Cell Cycle‐Specific Regulation of Centrosome Clustering Dynamics in Cancer Cells by the Multifunctional Kinesin HSET

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
CDK5RAP2 associates with the kinesin HSET and forms co‐condensates. HSET motors drive the directional transport of CDK5RAP2 condensates toward microtubule minus ends. During mitosis, HSET self‐assembly further stabilizes clustered centrosomes, thereby enabling pseudo‐bipolar spindle formation in cancer cells with supernumerary centrosomes. Upon mitotic

STEAP1 Suppresses Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Targeting Wnt/β‐Catenin Signalling and EMT

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective The present study aimed to investigate the expression and biological behaviour of the six‐transmembrane epithelial antigen of the prostate 1 (STEAP1) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), and to further analyse its underlying mechanisms.

Artesunate Induces G0/G1 Phase Arrest in Tumor Cells and Associates With Cyclin‐Dependent Kinase 4 (CDK4)

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the leading cause of cancer‐related death worldwide. Cyclin‐dependent kinase 4 (CDK4) is a well‐validated oncogenic driver in NSCLC, yet current CDK4 inhibitors—predominantly based on the aminopyrimidine scaffold—are limited by structural homogeneity and the rapid emergence of acquired ...

Synchronous Haemorrhagic Tumors of the Anterior Maxilla and Oropharynx

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Photomicrograph of a low‐power view of partially ulcerated squamous mucosa with underlying vascular proliferation showing anastomosing vascular channels. Hematoxylin and eosin stain. Magnification ×20. ABSTRACT Oral epithelioid angiosarcoma arising in the oral cavity is exceptionally rare.

Targeting the nuclear export receptor exportin‐1 in acute myeloid leukaemia: From biology to clinical translation

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
• XPO1 hyperactivation promotes leukaemogenesis by altering nucleocytoplasmic transport and transcriptional control in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). • Selinexor and eltanexor show preferential activity in NPM1‐mutated, DEK::NUP214‐positive and SF3B1‐mutated myeloid neoplasms.
