Synthesis of ethanolamine phosphoglycerides by human platelets.
Platelet homogenates contain an ethanolaminephosphotransferase (EC 2.7.8.1) that catalyzes the synthesis of ethanolamine phosphoglycerides from cytidine-5‘-diphosphate ethanolamine and 1-radyl-2-acyl-sn-glycerols.

Cytidine photohydration in R17 RNA
A reductive assay for the determination of cytidine photohydrates (6-hydroxy-5,6-dihydrocytidine) in ultraviolet-irradiated RNA has been developed. The assay is based on the transformation of the unstable photohydrate into the stable reduction product N 1 -ribosyl- N 3 -( γ -hydroxypropyl)-urea in the irradiated RNA.

Somatic cell reprogramming for Parkinson's disease treatment
The fundamental purpose of cell reprogramming to treat Parkinson's disease is to generate dopaminergic neurons (DAN) and do transplantation. There are two ways to accomplish this. One method is to induce cells into induced DA neurons (iDAN) directly or to induce cells into induced pluripotent stem cells and ultimately into iDAN in vitro. Another option

Epigenetic Regulation in the Pathogenesis of Renal Inflammation: Insights and Therapeutic Potentials
ABSTRACT Renal inflammation is a common pathological process in various kidney diseases, often initiated by factors such as toxins, ischemia, or autoimmune reactions. This inflammatory response can result in structural damage and a rapid decline in renal function.

Intrinsic immunity against retrotransposons by APOBEC cytidine deaminases
Over 40% of the human genome is recognizable as having been derived from ancient retroelements, transported by an intracellular copy-and-paste process involving an RNA intermediate, with an additional few percent classified as DNA transposable elements ...

A Nonlinear Quantitative Model for Measuring Concentration Ratios From Raman Intensities
Estimating concentration from Raman intensity ratios is complicated by cross‐contributions from overlapping peaks, causing measured ratios to deviate from the linear behavior assumed in conventional quantitative models. This nonlinear method fully accounts for cross‐contributions, allowing estimation of concentration over several orders of magnitude ...

Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are key regulators of the pancreatic tumor microenvironment. Through metabolic reprogramming, CAFs support tumor growth by providing nutrients and remodeling extracellular matrix. CAF heterogeneity, including myCAF, iCAF, and apCAF subsets, contributes to immune modulation and therapeutic resistance.

Biological functions and clinical implications of the CMPK2 across multisystemic diseases
Cytidine/Uridine monophosphate kinase 2 (CMPK2) is a crucial enzyme responsible for the phosphorylation of nucleotides, specifically converting cytidine monophosphate (CMP) and uridine monophosphate (UMP) into their respective diphosphates, known as ...
