A Superhydrophobic 3D Cell Culture System Reveals the Mechanobiological Role of Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts in Prostate Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 20, 27 May 2026.
A superhydrophobic 3D cell culture platform enables rapid and consistent formation of heterotypic tumor–stroma clusters, and reveals how physiological shear conditions influence metastatic signaling. Mechanical stimulation of cancer‐associated fibroblasts promotes sustained cytokine secretion and survival‐promoting pathways, showing how multicellular ...

Cardiac Ablation of SOCS3 Aggravates DOCA-Salt-Induced Hypertrophic Remodeling by Activation of Gp130-Dependent Signaling in Mice

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2018
Background/Aims: Cardiac remodeling is a critical pathogenetic process leading to heart failure. Suppressor of cytokine signaling-3 (SOCS3) is demonstrated as a key negative regulator of the gp130 receptor to inhibit cardiac hypertrophy.

Artesunate Ameliorates APAP‐induced Liver Injury by Promoting NEDD4L‐Mediated Ubiquitination and Degradation of TXNIP

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 27, 13 May 2026.
ABSTRACT Liver injury can lead to severe acute liver failure and even death in patients. Artesunate (ART), which is a derivative of artemisinin that has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of malaria, has significant regulatory effects on cell death and inflammation.

Genetic evidence for an essential role of neuronally expressed IL-6 signal transducer gp130 in the induction and maintenance of experimentally induced mechanical hypersensitivity in vivo and in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Pain, 2011
Tenderness and mechanical allodynia are key symptoms of malignant tumor, inflammation and neuropathy. The proinflammatory cytokine interleukin-6 (IL-6) is causally involved in all three pathologies.

Interleukin‐6 and Oncostatin M Levels in Patients With Type 1 Diabetes and Its Relationship With Glycemic Indices

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 3, May 2026.
In children with type 1 diabetes, serum oncostatin M is significantly elevated and strongly predicts poor glycemic control, while IL‐6 is associated with diabetic ketoacidosis. OSM demonstrates high diagnostic accuracy, suggesting its potential as a sensitive biomarker for early detection and monitoring of paediatric T1DM.

Investigating plasticity within the interleukin-6 family with AlphaFold-Multimer

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal
Cytokines are important soluble mediators that are involved in physiological and pathophysiological processes. Among them, members of the interleukin-6 (IL-6) family of cytokines have gained remarkable attention, because especially the name-giving ...

Increased expression of interleukin (IL)-6 family members and receptors in urinary bladder with cyclophosphamide (CYP)-induced bladder inflammation in female rats

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2011
Recent studies suggest that JAK-STAT signaling pathways contribute to increased voiding frequency and referred pain of CYP-induced cystitis in rats. Potential upstream chemical mediator(s) that may be activated by CYP-induced cystitis to stimulate JAK ...

Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) and its receptor (CNTFRα) signal through MAPK/ERK pathway in human prostate tissues: a morphological and biomolecular study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry, 2020
Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) is a member of interleukin-6 type cytokine family. The CNTF receptor complex is a heterodimer including gp130 and CNTF receptor α (CNTFRα) proteins triggering the activation of multiple intracellular signaling pathways ...
