Cloning and characterisation of chlorophyll synthase from Avena sativa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The chlorophyll synthase gene from oat (Avena sativa) was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The deduced amino acid sequence consists of 378 amino acids including a presequence, of 46 amino acids.

ANKS1B in the Nucleus Accumbens Controls Escalated Cocaine Self‐Administration via Regulating CBP‐FoxO3 Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ANKS1B in the nucleus accumbens plays a critical role in the transition from controlled to escalated cocaine intake. Mechanistically, ANKS1B interacts with CBP to epigenetically suppress FoxO3 through H3K27 acetylation. The ANKS1B‐CBP‐FoxO3 signaling cascade presents a novel theraputic target for the treatment of cocaine addiction.

Structural and functional characterisation of Photosystem II from two His-tagged transplastomic strains of Nicotiana tabacum

open access: yes, 2009
Photosystem II (PSII) is a polypeptide-cofactor complex organised as a homodimeric multisubunit protein embedded in the thylakoid membrane. PSII monomers are heterooligomers related to each other by a pseudo-twofold axis perpendicular to the membrane ...

β-Carotene to zeaxanthin conversion in the rapid turnover of the D1 protein of photosystem II

open access: yes, 1998
The carotenoid composition was investigated during enhanced D1 protein turnover in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii exposed to high light. After 2 h of high light there was no loss of the D1 protein yet. However, the β-carotene content was significantly reduced.

A Synergistic Hydrogel‐Microalgae Platform for Dual‐Targeting of Intestinal and Neuroimmune Dysfunction in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioactive hydrogel incorporating Chlorella vulgaris and paeoniflorin within a carboxymethyl chitosan/sodium alginate matrix cross‐linked with genipin is developed for inflammatory bowel disease therapy. The hydrogel exhibits gastric stability and intestine‐responsive release.

Functional interaction between the ZO-1-interacting transcription factor ZONAB/DbpA and the RNA processing factor symplekin

open access: yes, 2006
Epithelial tight junctions participate in the regulation of gene expression by controlling the activity of transcription factors that can interact with junctional components.

The Host Cell Factor Phosphatase‐2A Subunit PR130 Restricts Replication of Herpes Simplex Virus Type‐1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular, genetic, virological, and biochemical analysis in combination with global proteome and phosphoproteome profiling and functional assays were applied to study the role of PR130 in the context of HSV‐1 replication. The observations reveal that host‐intrinsic mechanisms regulate HSV‐1 replication and highlight PR130 as a susceptibility factor of
