Mitophagy and Ubiquitination Coordinate Context‐Specific Mitochondrial Quality Control and EMT/MET Plasticity to Drive Cancer Cell Invasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
Metastatic invasion emerges when tumor‐intrinsic programs and microenvironmental forces converge on mitochondrial quality control. A context‐stratified framework links mtROS, mtDNA integrity, mechanics and nutrient/oxygen cues to fission–fusion remodeling, mtUPR and mitophagy.

Ty3 Retrotransposon Hijacks Mating Yeast RNA Processing Bodies to Infect New Genomes. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2015
Retrotransposition of the budding yeast long terminal repeat retrotransposon Ty3 is activated during mating. In this study, proteins that associate with Ty3 Gag3 capsid protein during virus-like particle (VLP) assembly were identified by mass ...

RNA‐Based Therapies for Inherited Metabolic Disorders

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) are a diverse and complex group of genetic conditions resulting from deficiencies in enzymes, transporters, or cofactors. These deficiencies lead to metabolic dysfunction and severe clinical consequences. Despite significant progress in understanding their molecular basis, treatment options remain limited ...

The Arabidopsis DCP2 gene is required for proper mRNA turnover and prevents transgene silencing in Arabidopsis [PDF]

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, 2012
SummaryPost‐transcriptional gene silencing often limits the over‐expression of transgenes in transgenic plants. It involves RNA‐DEPENDENT RNA POLYMERASE 6 (RDR6), which recognizes aberrant transcripts, such as inaccurately processed or uncapped mRNA, and triggers silencing of target transcripts.

Evaluation of two versions of the IPSL-EPOC decadal prediction systems

open access: yesFrontiers in Climate
This study compares two generations of the IPSL-EPOC decadal climate prediction system based on the IPSL-CM6A-LR Earth System Model, focusing on differences in ocean data assimilation.

mRNA degradation by miRNAs and GW182 requires both CCR4:NOT deadenylase and DCP1:DCP2 decapping complexes [PDF]

open access: yesGenes & Development, 2006
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) silence the expression of target genes post-transcriptionally. Their function is mediated by the Argonaute proteins (AGOs), which colocalize to P-bodies with mRNA degradation enzymes. Mammalian P-bodies are also marked by the GW182 protein, which interacts with the AGOs and is required for miRNA function.

Identification of Integrated Stress Response–Related Biomarkers in Sepsis‐Induced Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Background Sepsis‐induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a fatal inflammatory lung injury. The integrated stress response (ISR) may play stage‐dependent roles in lung injury, but its clinical relevance in sepsis‐induced ARDS remains unclear. We aimed to identify ISR‐related biomarkers and explore their potential mechanisms.

m6A Methylation‐Induced Autophagy Impairment by TFEB Regulation in SOD1‐G93A ALS Cell Model

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, Volume 198, Issue 8, Page 221-229, December 2025.
ABSTRACT We investigate the role of m6A RNA methylation in regulating transcription factor EB (TFEB) and its contribution to mitochondrial autophagy (mitophagy) dysfunction in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). ALS cell models were used to analyse mitophagy markers and TFEB expression under METTL3 and TFEB modulation, using RT‐qPCR, Western blot ...

Air Pollution‐Induced Epigenetic Regulation in Respiratory Diseases: Mechanisms, Dysregulation, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesMedComm – Future Medicine, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
Air pollution, a major global health hazard, contributes to asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and lung cancer via four core epigenetic pathways (DNA/RNA methylation, noncoding RNAs, and histone modifications), shaping gene expression and driving disease pathogenesis.

ArabidopsisDCP2, DCP1, and VARICOSE Form a Decapping Complex Required for Postembryonic Development

open access: yesThe Plant Cell, 2006
AbstractmRNA turnover in eukaryotes involves the removal of m7GDP from the 5′ end. This decapping reaction is mediated by a protein complex well characterized in yeast and human but not in plants. The function of the decapping complex in the development of multicellular organisms is also poorly understood.
