Dysregulation of the endosomal sorting complex III is linked to neurodegeneration in progressive multiple sclerosis

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
This study shows that components of the ESCRT‐III membrane repair machinery, VPS4B and CHMP2A, are dysregulated in progressive MS and are associated with higher neurodegeneration and inflammation. This might lead to improper function of the complex to inhibit the final stages of necroptosis activation and thus impede neuronal cell death.

Effect of time to initiation and dose of methylprednisolone on outcome in multiple sclerosis‐related optic neuritis

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Neuroimmunology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives It is known that the benefit of intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) in multiple sclerosis‐related optic neuritis (MS‐ON) is limited to an accelerated recovery. We aimed to evaluate the impact of time from symptoms onset to IVMP initiation and of IVMP dose on visual recovery among people with MS‐ON.

Dysregulation of Rho‐Associated Coiled‐Coil Protein Kinase1 Depletes Neural Stem Cell Pool and Impairs Hippocampal Neurogenesis After Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Following TBI, hippocampal neurogenesis in mice is impaired and affects cognitive function. This impairment is associated with the upregulation of p‐AKT/AKT mediated by ROCK1. ABSTRACT Traumatic brain injury (TBI) represents a global health burden, often resulting in persistent neurological deficits due to impaired hippocampal neurogenesis ...
