Charge-induced conformational changes of dendrimers [PDF]
We study the effect of chargeable monomers on the conformation of dendrimers of low generation by computer simulations, employing bare Coulomb interactions. The presence of the latter leads to an increase in size of the dendrimer due to a combined effect of electrostatic repulsion and the presence of counterions within the dendrimer, and also enhances ...

Dendrimers as Pharmaceutical Excipients: Synthesis, Properties, Toxicity and Biomedical Applications
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the United States of America, define excipient as the constituents of the pharmaceutical form other than the active ingredient, i.e., any component that is ...

Anomalous behavior of trapping in extended dendrimers with a perfect trap [PDF]
Compact and extended dendrimers are two important classes of dendritic polymers. The impact of the underlying structure of compact dendrimers on dynamical processes has been much studied, yet the relation between the dynamical and structural properties of extended dendrimers remains not well understood.

Electrical switching and memory phenomena observed in redox-gradient dendrimer sandwich devices [PDF]
We report on the fabrication of dendrimer sandwich devices with electrical switching and memory properties. The storage media is consisted of a redox-gradient dendrimer layer sandwiched in organic barrier thin films. The dendrimer layer acts as potential well where redox-state changes and consequent electrical transitions of the embedded dendrimer ...

New Advances in General Biomedical Applications of PAMAM Dendrimers
Dendrimers are nanoscopic compounds, which are monodispersed, and they are generally considered as homogeneous. PAMAM (polyamidoamine) was introduced in 1985, by Donald A. Tomalia, as a new class of polymers, named ‘starburst polymers’.

Porosity of Rigid Dendrimers in Bulk: Interdendrimer Interactions and Functionality as Key Factors
The porous structure of second- and third-generation polyphenylene-type dendrimers was investigated by adsorption of N2, Ar, and CO2 gases, scanning electron microscopy and small-angle X-ray spectroscopy.

Structure of Carbon Nanotube-dendrimer composite [PDF]
Using all atomistic molecular dynamics (MD) simulations we report the microscopic picture of the nanotube-dendrimer complex for PAMAM dendrimer of generation 2 to 4 and carbon nanotube of chirality (6,5). We find compact wrapping conformations of dendrimer onto the nanotube surface for all the three generations of PAMAM dendrimer.

Novel PH Sensitive Nanocarrier Agents Based on Citric Acid Dendrimers Containing Conjugated β-Cyclodextrins [PDF]
Introduction: In this work, the use of β-cyclodextrine (β-CD)-modified dendrimers as a nanocapsule with a biocompatible shell have studied. β-CD-modified dendrimers have designed and synthesized to enhance the loading capacity of the final dendrimers ...

Phosphorus Dendrimers as Nanotools against Cancers
This review concerns the use of dendrimers, especially of phosphorhydrazone dendrimers, against cancers. After the introduction, the review is organized in three main topics, depending on the role played by the phosphorus dendrimers against cancers: (i ...
