Pollution control: A differential game approach

Annals of Operations Research, 1992
The paper studies the relationships between two countries in a differential game setting where the control of each country is its emittance of pollutants. Each country wants to maximize its own welfare. The correspondence mathematical model consists of a one-dimensional differential equation in which the state represents the ``world wide'' stock of ...

A differential game formulation of a controlled network

Queueing Systems, 2010
Consider a multiclass queueing network system with fixed routing. Let service control be one player; service rate, the other. This paper studies the resulting differential game. The main result of the paper is a simple representation of the value function; the proof however is hard. The paper computes a useful example.

Differential Games with Impulse Control

2007
This chapter deals with the pursuit games in which players (pursuer, evader, or both) employ impulse control. We consider continuous-time dynamical systems modeled by ordinary differential equations that are affected by jumps in state at discrete instants. The moments of jump comply with the condition for a finite number of jumps in finite time.

A differential dynamic games approach to flow control

42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37475), 2004
Surge tanks are flow control devices, whose purpose is to smooth out the rate of change of flow of fluids passing from one process unit to another. Classical surge tanks controllers, such as PID, focus on regulating the volume of fluid in the surge tank at some 'safe' intermediate value, between overflow and emptying of the surge tank.

Barrier-Critic Adaptive Robust Control of Nonzero-Sum Differential Games for Uncertain Nonlinear Systems With State Constraints

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man & Cybernetics. Systems
In this article, for the nonzero-sum (NZS) differential games problem of uncertain nonlinear systems with state constraints, an adaptive robust stabilization scheme based on the control barrier function (CBF) is presented under the influence of random ...

Dynamic Event-Triggered Control for Hierarchical Differential Games

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems Part 1: Regular Papers
This paper proposes a novel dynamic event-triggered control method for a class of completely unknown nonaffine hierarchical differential games, incorporating asymmetric boundaries in both system states and control strategies.

Robust Optimal Control for Disturbed Nonlinear Zero-Sum Differential Games Based on Single NN and Least Squares

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man & Cybernetics. Systems, 2020
This paper establishes an approximate optimal critic learning algorithm based on single neural network (NN) policy iteration (PI) aiming at solving for continuous-time (CT) 2-player zero-sum games (ZSGs).

Barrier-critic-disturbance approximate optimal control of nonzero-sum differential games for modular robot manipulators

Neural Networks
In this paper, for addressing the safe control problem of modular robot manipulators (MRMs) system with uncertain disturbances, an approximate optimal control scheme of nonzero-sum (NZS) differential games is proposed based on the control barrier ...
