Sono-thermal oxidation of dihydropyrimidinones

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry, 2008
Combination of ultrasound and heat has been used for the oxidation of some ethyl 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one-5-carboxylates to their corresponding ethyl pyrimidin-2(1H)-one-5-carboxylates by using potassium peroxydisulfate in aqueous acetonitrile. An ultrasonic probe of 24 kHz frequency has been used for this study.

Deep Eutectic Solvents: The Organic Reaction Medium of the Century [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This microreview summarizes the use of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) and related melts in organic synthesis. Solvents of this type combine the great advantages of other proposed environmentally benign alternative solvents, such as low toxicity, high ...

Efficient synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones via a three-component Biginelli-type reaction of urea, alkylaldehyde and arylaldehyde

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2013
A one-pot three-component synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones via a molecular iodine-catalyzed tandem reaction of simple readily available mono-substituted urea, alkylaldehyde, and arylaldehyde has been developed. The reaction proceeds with high chemo- and

Silica-ZnCl 2 : An Efficient Catalyst for the Synthesis of 4-Methylcoumarins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Silica-ZnCl2 has been found to be an efficient and eco-friendly catalyst for the synthesis of substituted 4-methylcoumarins from ethyl acetoacetate and substituted phenols under “neat” conditions in an oil bath at 80°C.

An Efficient One-Pot Protocol for the Synthesis of Substituted 3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones Using Metallophthalocyanines (MPcs) as Potent Heterogeneous Catalysts: Synthesis, Characterization, Aggregation and Antimicrobial Activity

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
In this study, novel phthalonitrile 3 and their corresponding metal-free 4 and metallophthalocyanine derivatives 5–7 bearing 2-isopropenyl-4-methoxy-1-methylbenzene groups were synthesized and characterized. 3,4-Dihydropyrimidinones have been synthesized
