Epoxide hydrolases regulate epoxyeicosatrienoic acid incorporation into coronary endothelial phospholipids

open access: yes, 1999
Cytochrome P-450-derived epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) are avidly incorporated into and released from endothelial phospholipids, a process that results in potentiation of endothelium-dependent relaxation.

Complex interrelationships between nitro-alkene-dependent inhibition of soluble epoxide hydrolase, inflammation and tumor growth

open access: yesRedox Biology, 2020
Nitro-oleate (10-nitro-octadec-9-enoic acid), which inhibits soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) by covalently adducting to C521, increases the abundance of epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) that can be health promoting, for example by lowering blood pressure

Dihydroxyeicosatrienoic acids are potent activators of Ca2+‐activated K+ channels in isolated rat coronary arterial myocytes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, 2001
1. Dihydroxyeicosatrienoic acids (DHETs), which are metabolites of arachidonic acid (AA) and epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs), have been identified as highly potent endogenous vasodilators, but the mechanisms by which DHETs induce relaxation of vascular smooth muscle are unknown. Using inside-out patch clamp techniques, we examined the effects of DHETs

Fluorescent HPLC assay for 20-HETE and otherP-450 metabolites of arachidonic acid

open access: yes, 2000
This study describes a fluorescent HPLC assay for measuring 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (20-HETE) and other cytochrome P-450 metabolites of arachidonic acid in urine, tissue, and interstitial fluid. An internal standard, 20-hydroxyeicosa-6( Z),15( Z)-

Hemodialysis and erythrocyte epoxy fatty acids

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, 2020
Fatty acid products derived from cytochromes P450 (CYP) monooxygenase and lipoxygenase (LOX)/CYP ω/(ω‐1)‐hydroxylase pathways are a superclass of lipid mediators with potent bioactivities.

Renal Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase-Deficient Mice. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
AIM:20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (20-HETE) and epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) are cytochrome P450 (CYP)-dependent eicosanoids that play opposite roles in the regulation of vascular tone, inflammation, and apoptosis.

EETs Reduction Contributes to Granulosa Cell Senescence and Endometriosis‐Associated Infertility via the PI3K/AKT/mTOR Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 42, November 13, 2025.
1) 14, 15‐EET levels were decreased in ovarian granulosa cells, follicular fluid, peritoneal fluid from endometriosis patients. 2) EETs reduction in endometriosis follicular fluid aggravated granulosa cell senescence. 3) ROS reduced 14, 15‐EET levels by upregulating EPHX2 through a mechanism involving histone methylation modification.

Identification and regulation of a new vertebrate cytochrome P450 subfamily, the CYP2Ps, and functional characterization of CYP2P3, a conserved arachidonic acid epoxygenase/19-hydroxylase

open access: yes, 2003
Three genes cloned from Fundulus heteroclitus (killifish) define a new P450 subfamily, CYP2P. Structurally, the CYP2Ps are related to fish CYP2Ns and mammalian CYP2Js. CYP2P transcripts are expressed predominantly in liver and intestine.

Omega-3 Fatty Acid Intake and Oxylipin Production in Response to Short-Term Ambient Air Pollution Exposure in Healthy Adults

open access: yesToxics
Oxylipins are specialized lipid mediators that can have dual functions, either promoting inflammation or supporting resolution. Exposure to air pollution is associated with systemic inflammation that may be modified by oxylipins derived from ...

Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase Inhibition Protected against Angiotensin II-induced Adventitial Remodeling

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs), the metabolites of cytochrome P450 epoxygenases derived from arachidonic acid, exert important biological activities in maintaining cardiovascular homeostasis.
