Phosphosulfonic acid, an efficient solid acid catalyst for the one-pot preparation of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes and 1,8-dioxo-octahydro-xanthenes under solvent-free conditions [PDF]
An expeditious procedure for the synthesis of 14- aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes and 1,8-dioxo-octahydro-xanthenes through one-pot pseudo three component condensation of β-naphthol or dimedone with various aryl aldehydes is described.

Surfactant Derived From Stearoyl Chloride and Benzimidazole for Micellar-Promoted Synthesis of N-Aryl-1,8-dioxo-decahydroacridines in Water at Room Temperature. [PDF]
A new anionic surfactant was synthesized via a one‐pot reaction of stearoyl chloride and benzimidazole with aluminum chloride under reflux. The surfactant was effective in synthesizing 1,8‐dioxodecahydroacridines, achieving a 96% yield in water without the need for cocatalysts.

Isolable Cysteine Sulfenyl Iodide: Stabilization by a Molecular Cradle, Crystal Structure, and Biologically Relevant Reactivity. [PDF]
An isolable cysteine sulfenyl iodide (Cys–SI) stabilized by a molecular cradle is reported. X‐ray analysis and reactivity studies reveal hydrolysis to sulfenic acid, electrophilic substitution with indoles, and high reactivity toward amines and dimedone, providing direct evidence for long‐standing proposals on iodine‐mediated protein modification ...

Cysteine perthiosulfenic acid (Cys-SSOH): A novel intermediate in thiol-based redox signaling?
The reversible oxidation of protein cysteine residues (Cys-SH) is a key reaction in cellular redox signaling involving initial formation of sulfenic acids (Cys-SOH), which are commonly detected using selective dimedone-based probes.
