A comprehensive microarray-based DNA methylation study of 367 hematological neoplasms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background: Alterations in the DNA methylation pattern are a hallmark of leukemias and lymphomas. However, most epigenetic studies in hematologic neoplasms (HNs) have focused either on the analysis of few candidate genes or many genes and few HN entities,

Clinical-pathological features of an occult mixed mucinous male breast cancer. a case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Mucinous carcinoma of the male breast is an uncommon malignant breast neoplasm and its diagnoses remain difficult. It is probably due to such a low rate of breast cancer cases that men tend to be diagnosed at an older age than women and with a later ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

FLT3-ITD cooperates with Rac1 to modulate the sensitivity of leukemic cells to chemotherapeutic agents via regulation of DNA repair pathways

open access: yesHaematologica, 2019
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an aggressive hematologic neoplasm, and patients with an internal tandem duplication (ITD) mutation of the FMS-like tyrosine kinase-3 (FLT3) receptor gene have a poor prognosis.

Exceptional response to neoadjuvant capecitabine and temozolomide in TSC2-mutant pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor

open access: yesCurrent Problems in Cancer: Case Reports, 2020
Tuberous Sclerosis 1/2 (TSC1/2) functions as a negative regulator of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway, one of the key oncogenic pathways described in neuroendocrine neoplasm (NEN) carcinogenesis. While loss-of-function mutations in TSC1/2

Analytical validation of a multi-cancer early detection test with cancer signal origin using a cell-free DNA-based targeted methylation assay.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
The analytical validation is reported for a targeted methylation-based cell-free DNA multi-cancer early detection test designed to detect cancer and predict the cancer signal origin (tissue of origin).

A Cerebellar High-Grade Neuroepithelial Tumour with BCOR Alteration in a five-year-old Child: A case report. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
New groups of high-grade neuroepithelial tumours (HGNET) have emerged from the reclassification of central nervous system (CNS) embryonal tumours that have recognised CNS HGNET with BCOR alteration (CNS HGNET-BCOR).
