The INO80 Complex Removes H2A.Z to Promote Presynaptic Filament Formation during Homologous Recombination

open access: yesCell Reports, 2017
The INO80 complex (INO80-C) is an evolutionarily conserved nucleosome remodeler that acts in transcription, replication, and genome stability. It is required for resistance against genotoxic agents and is involved in the repair of DNA double-strand ...

Bull and boar sperm DNA integrity evaluated by sperm chromatin structure assay in the Czech Republic

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2004
Analysis of sperm parameters is very important for predicting the outcome of assisted reproductive techniques and is necessary for determination of fertility potential of males tested for artificial insemination. In our study we have determined the level

A CDK-regulated chromatin segregase promoting chromosome replication

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
How cells coordinate chromatin dynamics with the cell cycle machinery to promote genome duplication during S phase is still a matter of study. Here the authors reveal by in vitro reconstitution assays that the AAA + -ATPase containing Yta7 protein in S ...

Impact of Long-term Polyvinylpyrrolidone Exposure on Gene Expression, Chromatin Structure, and Malondialdehyde Levels in Human Sperm [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Genetic Resources
In an intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) procedure, sperm must be immobilized due to its manipulation; therefore, Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) has been used for this purpose.

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Kinetics of Integration of Transforming DNA in Pneumococcus [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1972
Integration of donor genes, as measured by recovery of their transforming activity from eclipse in lysates of newly transformed cells of pneumococcus, has been followed at temperatures from 0 to 40°. There is a lag in the recovery curve that is marker-dependent and increases as temperature falls.

The nexus of nuclear envelope dynamics, circular economy and cancer cell pathophysiology

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Cell Biology
The nuclear envelope (NE) is a critical component in maintaining the function and structure of the eukaryotic nucleus. The NE and lamina are disassembled during each cell cycle to enable an open mitosis.

Evaluation of Antifreeze Proteins on Miniature Pig Sperm Viability, DNA Damage, and Acrosome Status during Cryopreservation

open access: yesJournal of Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology, 2016
The cryopreservation of sperm has become the subject of research for successful artificial insemination technologies. Antifreeze proteins (AFPs), one of the factors necessary for effective cryopreservation, are derived from certain Antarctic organisms ...
