Soluble E-Selectin in Arthritis
Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology, 1993Cellular adhesion molecules, such as E-selectin, function to recruit leukocytes into inflammatory lesions. Recently, a soluble form of this adhesion molecule, sE-selectin, has been described. In this study we determined soluble E-selectin (sE-selectin) in synovial fluid (SF) and blood samples from patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and other ...

E-Selectin Binding Promotes Neutrophil Activationin Vivoin E-Selectin Transgenic Mice
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1996E-selectin is a membrane protein expressed by endothelial cells activated by cytokines released during the inflammatory process; it plays an important role in neutrophil emigration into inflamed tissues. To further explore in vivo the function of E-selectin, we have generated transgenic mouse line expressing E-selectin under the control of a chicken ...

In this issue of Blood, Sreeramkumar and colleagues report that E-selectin ligand-1 (ESL-1) is a highly selective ligand for E-selectin on hematopoietic progenitors with unexpected important contributions to their trafficking.

In the search for drugs that could control excessive leukocyte extravasation, we now report on modifications of the already known potent E-selectin antagonist 3 containing a cyclohexyllactic acid residue and a glucal-derived building block. Thus, we describe the synthesis and biological evaluation of a series of derivatives 6 with modified glucal ...

Hypothermia Inhibits Human E-Selectin Transcription
Journal of Surgical Research, 1996During endothelial cell activation, the formation and expression of E-selectin require transcriptional activation of the E-selectin gene, mediated by the coordinated action of several transcription factors and cis-acting elements in its 5'-flanking region.

Neutrophils roll on E-selectin.
The Journal of Immunology, 1993Abstract Using flow conditions that simulate those in post capillary venules, we have found that neutrophils attach and roll on a substrate bearing purified E-selectin. E-selectin resembles P-selectin (CD62) with regard to the dependence of attachment efficiency on wall shear stress and selectin density.

Human gingival keratinocytes express E‐selectin (CD62E)
Oral Diseases, 1996OBJECTIVES: E‐selectin (CD62E) is an adhesion molecule that participates in the binding of leukocytes to activated blood vascular endothelium. The present study was undertaken to characterise the pattern of E‐selectin expression on epithelial cells of the gingival crevice and oral epithelium.METHODS: A panel of six anti‐E‐selectin monoclonal antibodies
