Estimation of Shell Weight and Shell Thickness from Egg Specific Gravity and Egg Weight
Abstract Egg weight (EW), egg specific gravity (SG), shell thickness (ST), and shell weight (SW) were determined individually for 1853 eggs ranging in weight from 41 to 70 g. The eggs were laid by three groups of Single Comb White Leghorn (HN SW (g) = −5.972 + .06586 × SG + .09906 × EW (r2 = .890); SWUSA (mg/cm2) = 30.670 + .9565 × SG + .4571 × EW ...

Aqueous Two‐Phase Bioinks for Discrete Packing and Compartmentalization of 3D Bioprinted Cells
Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) enable the formation of biomimetic interfaces crucial for tissue engineering. However, clinical translation remains limited by the challenge of precisely controlling cellular compartmentalization. Here, we developed ATPS biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting allowing tuneable droplet formation via NaCl modulation.

Heritability of Egg Production and Egg Weight in Turkey
Abstract ALTHOUGH the inheritance of quantitative characters in chickens has been rather extensively investigated the measurement of genetic and environmental variances in turkeys has been largely neglected. Tacit assumptions that the magnitude of the genetic variability relative to the total variability is of the same size for analogous characters ...

Evaluating the Acceptability and Feasibility of Providing Egg or Cereal Breakfast during a Family-Based Treatment for Children with Overweight/Obesity: The Families and Breakfast Pilot Trial [PDF]
Background: Family-based behavioral treatment (FBT) is the most successful weight-loss treatment for children with overweight and obesity, however, long-term success is only achieved by a third of children over time. The use of foods that induce satiety,

Three‐Dimensional Ovary Model to Improve and Study Murine Follicle Growth
To develop new methods for fertility preservation in women, novel culture systems for small follicles need to be established. In this work, a poly(ethylene glycol) based scaffold, with appropriate mechanical and bioactive features to support mouse follicle and ovary cell growth is developed, and the formed cell‐follicle interactions are visualized ...

Effects of dietary taurine on egg weight
Two experiments were conducted to determine whether taurine supplementation to laying hens would influence laying performance. In Experiment 1, a total of 120 White Leghorn hens were fed diets supplemented with 0, 0.25, or 0.5% taurine for 5 wk. Egg weight was reduced significantly by supplementing 0.25 and 0.5% taurine; however, taurine did not affect

This review explores how alternative invertebrate and small‐vertebrate models advance the evaluation of nanomaterials across medicine and environmental science. By bridging cellular and organismal levels, these models enable integrated assessment of toxicity, biodistribution, and therapeutic performance.

Body Size and Condition, Timing of Breeding, and Aspects of Egg Production in Eastern Kingbirds [PDF]
Variation in timing of breeding in Eastern Kingbirds (Tyrannus tyrannus) was correlated only weakly with external morphological characters, but was correlated positively and significantly with estimates of body size based on measurements of skeletons and
