ENDOCANNABINOIDS AND EICOSAMOIDS: BIOSYNTHESIS AND INTERACTIONS WITH IMMUNE RESPONSE

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2014
The review is dedicated to modern concepts of arachidonic acid metabolites, i.e., endocannabinoids and eicosanoids, their biosynthetic pathways, cross-talk mechanisms and participation in immune response.

The effects of exercise on circulating endocannabinoid levels—a protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesSystematic Reviews, 2022
Background Increased circulating endocannabinoids levels are typically associated with aerobic exercise. This phenomenon is associated with a “runner’s high,” a state of euphoria and well-being experienced after a long exercise.

Endocannabinoids and exercise [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Sports Medicine, 2004
Exercise induces changes in mental status, particularly analgesia, sedation, anxiolysis, and a sense of wellbeing. The mechanisms underlying these changes remain unknown. Recent findings show that exercise increases serum concentrations of endocannabinoids, suggesting a possible explanation for a number of these changes.

Exploring the Role of Dysregulated Arousal in the Relationship Between Trauma and Addictive Behaviors Among College Students

open access: yesJournal of Counseling &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The relationship between trauma and addictive behaviors is well‐established, yet factors mediating this relationship remain understudied. Given the prevalence of addictive behaviors among collegiate populations, we used path analysis to explore the mediating role of arousal dysregulation in the relationship between childhood trauma and a ...

Efficacy of omega‐3 fatty acids as a functional food: a multifaceted approach to health reinforcement

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Omega‐3 fatty acids (omega‐3s) are polyunsaturated fatty acids linked with numerous health benefits. Omega‐3s exhibit multifaceted activities through various mechanisms. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) alleviates oxidative stress by lowering reactive oxygen species and improving oxidative stress in brain tissues and acts against neurodegenerative ...

Minocycline treatment inhibits microglial activation and alters spinal levels of endocannabinoids in a rat model of neuropathic pain

open access: yesMolecular Pain, 2009
Activation of spinal microglia contributes to aberrant pain responses associated with neuropathic pain states. Endocannabinoids (ECs) are present in the spinal cord, and inhibit nociceptive processing; levels of ECs may be altered by microglia which ...
