The biosynthetic mechanism of novel natural tetramic acid S‐TeA in Alternaria alternata is elucidated. Threonine acts as a precursor for 2‐amino‐3‐methylhexanoic acid (AMHA) synthesis via eight key enzymes from the branched‐chain amino acid biosynthetic pathway in the mitochondrion, wherein three unique enzymes (IPMS, IPMDH, and ISMD) play critical ...

Evidence of Involvement of the Calcitonin Gene‐Related Peptide in Restless Legs Syndrome
Abstract Background Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a common sensory‐motor disorder characterized by an urge to move the legs, often with unpleasant sensations, particularly during rest. Current treatments include iron supplementation, dopamine agonists, and opioids, but new therapeutic approaches are needed.

The study identified dysregulated fatty acid metabolism and inflammation as contributors to physio‐cognitive decline syndrome (PCDS). Sex‐specific metabolic disruptions were noted, with altered central carbon and tyrosine metabolism more pronounced in men and glutathione pathway perturbations more evident in women.

Catalytic Serine Labeling in Nonaqueous, Acidic Media
Serine‐targeting protein bioconjugation has been a formidable challenge because of the modest reactivity of the alkyl alcohol group in aqueous media. This work demonstrates a biomolecule‐compatible, nonaqueous approach to achieve alkyl alcohol‐selective labeling through acid‐catalyzed esterification reactions, which offers a unique advantage over the ...

Rh‐Catalyzed Hydroamination of Allenes: Asymmetric N‐Allylation of Amino Acids and Peptides
A rhodium‐catalyzed, atom‐economic method for the branched‐selective hydroamination of terminal allenes with α‐amino acid esters is reported. High levels of enantio‐ and diastereoselectivity were achieved by using commercially available ligands, with complete catalyst control demonstrated in several products.
