RELEASE OF VASOPRESSIN BY ENKEPHALIN [PDF]
Leu‐enkephalin, its stable analogue [D‐Ala2‐D‐Leu5]‐enkephalin and the C‐fragment of lipotropin (β endorphin) injected intravenously in the rat produced anti‐diuretic responses which were inhibited reversibly by naloxone. It was shown for Leu‐enkephalin that injection into the cerebral ventricles was at least ten times more effective than intravenous ...

Effects of Electroacupuncture at ST36 on Visceral Pain and Inflammatory Markers in IBS Rats
Electroacupuncture (EA) at ST36 significantly reduced visceral pain and colonic inflammation in IBS model rats. EA increased pain thresholds, lowered AWR scores, and downregulated key inflammatory mediators (IL‐1β, IL‐6, TNF‐α, TRPV1, NF‐κB). These findings highlight ST36‐targeted EA as a promising therapeutic strategy for IBS visceral hypersensitivity

Abstract Evidence reports positive effects of neck motor control and aerobic exercises (AEs) to improve pain in individuals with temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and neck pain. A single bout of exercise typically leads to an increase in pain thresholds up to 30 min post‐exercise, known as exercise‐induced hypoalgesia (EIH).

Thermodynamics and Kinetics of Folding of a Small Peptide
We study the thermodynamics and kinetics of folding for a small peptide. Our data rely on Monte Carlo simulations where the interactions among all atoms are taken into account.

Abstract The present review aimed to investigate the effectiveness of aerobic exercise (AE) compared to other interventions in decreasing pain intensity and reducing disability in individuals with neck pain. A systematic review (SR) of randomized controlled trials was conducted. This SR was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42021231231).

Comparative Study of Multicanonical and Simulated Annealing Algorithms in the Protein Folding Problem [PDF]
We compare a few variants of the recently proposed multicanonical method with the well known simulated annealing for the effectiveness in search of the energy global minimum of a biomolecular system. For this we study in detail Met-enkephalin, one of the

Sentience in cephalopod molluscs: an updated assessment
ABSTRACT This article evaluates the evidence for sentience – the capacity to have feelings – in cephalopod molluscs: octopus, cuttlefish, squid, and nautilus. Our framework includes eight criteria, covering both whether the animal's nervous system could support sentience and whether their behaviour indicates sentience.

Stochastic dynamics simulations in a new generalized ensemble [PDF]
We develop a formulation for molecular dynamics, Langevin, and hybrid Monte Carlo algorithms in the recently proposed generalized ensemble that is based on a physically motivated realisation of Tsallis weights. The effectiveness of the methods are tested

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

Hepatoprotective Effects of Met-enkephalin on Acetaminophen-Induced Liver Lesions in Male CBA Mice
Recent histopathological investigations in patients with hepatitis suggested possible involvement of Met-enkephalin and its receptors in the pathophysiology of hepatitis.
