Staphylococcus aureus growth and enterotoxin production in different types of milk

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2012
The aim of our study was to assess Staphylococcus aureus growth and the time of first detection of staphylococcal enterotoxins type A, B and C (SEA, SEB, SEC) in different type of milk, depending on the strain and storage conditions.

Enterotoxins production, biofilm formation and antimicrobial resistance of Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from refrigerated raw cow milk

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2019
This study aimed to isolate Staphylococcus aureus in refrigerated raw cow milk, and identify the presence of enterotoxin-expression genes, enterotoxin production and adherence ability, and antimicrobial resistance potential of the isolated strains ...

The Role of Regulatory Mechanisms and Environmental Parameters in Staphylococcal Food Poisoning and Resulting Challenges to Risk Assessment

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
Prevention, prediction, control, and handling of bacterial foodborne diseases – an ongoing, serious, and costly concern worldwide – are continually facing a wide array of difficulties. Not the least due to that food matrices, highly variable and complex,

Identification of Enterotoxin E [PDF]

open access: yesInfection and Immunity, 1971
Identification of a new enterotoxin was accomplished by purification of the enterotoxin produced by staphylococcal strain FRI-326 and by preparation of specific antitoxin to the enterotoxin. Toxicity of the preparations was determined in rhesus monkeys, and specificity of the enterotoxin-antitoxin reaction was determined in gel diffusion plates.

Heat-Labile Enterotoxin Decreases Macrophage Phagocytosis of Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2023
Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) are endemic in low-resource settings and cause robust secretory diarrheal disease in children less than five years of age. ETEC cause secretory diarrhea by producing the heat-stable (ST) and/or heat-labile (LT) enterotoxins.

The Biochemical Activity of Enterotoxin and Non-Enterotoxin Producing Staphylococci

open access: yesActa Veterinaria Scandinavica, 1977
One hundred and sixty-nine staphylococcal strains of human origin have been tested for production of enterotoxin A, B or Ci, coagulase activity, DNase activity, typical growth on ETGP-agar, hemolysin production and the breakdown of mannitol under aerobic conditions.
