A case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis with eosinophilic ascites.

open access: yesNihon Naika Gakkai Zasshi, 1989

Race and Household Income Are Associated With Disease Outcomes in Pediatric Patients With Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody–Associated Vasculitis Hospitalized in the United States

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Race and household income impact outcomes in patients with rheumatic conditions; however, their role in pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated vasculitis (AAV) remains poorly understood. We aimed to evaluate whether race and ethnicity and household income are associated with severe AAV disease and renal outcomes among

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Immunoinflammatory Mechanisms and Biocompatibility of Bioactive Dental Biomaterials: From Fundamental Insights to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.

Transcriptome profiling of mouse colonic eosinophils reveals a key role for eosinophils in the induction of s100a8 and s100a9 in mucosal healing

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Eosinophils are bone marrow-derived cells that have been largely implicated in Th2-associated diseases. Recent data highlights a key role for eosinophils in mucosal innate immune responses especially in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, which is one of ...

Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis and Related Eosinophilic Disorders [PDF]

open access: yesGastroenterology Clinics of North America, 2014
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) represents one member within the spectrum of diseases collectively referred to as eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, which includes eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), gastritis, enteritis, and colitis. EGE is less common than EoE and involves a different site of disease but otherwise shares many common features ...

Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.

The Role of Eosinophils in Bullous Pemphigoid: A Developing Model of Eosinophil Pathogenicity in Mucocutaneous Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2018
Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is an autoimmune blistering disease which carries a significant mortality and morbidity. While historically BP has been characterized as an IgG driven disease mediated by anti-BP180 and BP230 IgG autoantibodies, developments in ...

Osteopontin mediated eosinophils activation by group II innate lymphoid cells

open access: yesWorld Allergy Organization Journal, 2022
Background: Osteopontin (OPN) can regulate Th2 inflammation in allergic rhinitis (AR). A recent study suggested that group II innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) were very important for airway inflammation.

Tumor‐Derived Alpha‐1 Antitrypsin Promotes Liver Metastasis of Colorectal Cancer Through the Neutrophil Extracellular Traps–CCDC25 Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Liver metastasis is a leading cause of mortality in colorectal cancer (CRC), where the inflammatory tumor microenvironment, specifically neutrophil infiltration, significantly promotes metastatic colonization. This study reveals a pro‐metastatic role for alpha‐1 antitrypsin (A1AT) in CRC liver metastasis via a dual mechanism involving ...
