Epitopes in ChEBI - A Collaboration with the IEDB [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
*ChEBI background:* Chemical Entities of Biological Interest (ChEBI) is a curated database of small chemical entities important in biosystems. As well as a description of entities, it provides a semantically rich knowledge base; and an internal hierarchy

Structure and pathogenicity of antibodies specific for citrullinated collagen type II in experimental arthritis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Antibodies to citrulline-modifi ed proteins have a high diagnostic value in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, their biological role in disease development is still unclear.

Cytosolic‐enhanced dark Epac‐based FRET sensors allow for intracellular cAMP detection in live cells via FLIM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We describe a novel set of Epac‐based FRET‐FLIM biosensors with improved fully cytosolic distribution, achieved without compromising the state‐of‐the‐art performance of our original designs, for detecting cAMP dynamics in real time in live cells with high precision and reliability.

Advances in the Characterization of the T-Cell Response to Human Herpesvirus-6

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
Human herpesvirus (HHV) 6 is thought to remain clinically latent in most individuals after primary infection and to reactivate to cause disease in persons with severe immunosuppression.

PeBLes: Prediction of B-cell epitope using molecular layers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Characterization of B-cell protein epitope and developing critical parameters for its identification is one of the long standing interests. Using Layers algorithm, we introduced the concept of anchor residues to identify epitope. We have shown that majority of the epitope is composed of anchor residues and have significant bias in epitope for these ...

Application of built-in adjuvants for epitope-based vaccines

open access: yesPeerJ, 2019
Several studies have shown that epitope vaccines exhibit substantial advantages over conventional vaccines. However, epitope vaccines are associated with limited immunity, which can be overcome by conjugating antigenic epitopes with built-in adjuvants (e.

The [2Fe‐2S] cluster of mitochondrial outer membrane protein mitoNEET has an O2‐regulated nitric oxide access tunnel

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mitochondrial outer membrane iron–sulphur ([Fe‐S]) protein mitoNEET is a target of the type‐2 diabetes drug pioglitazone. Its unknown molecular function is linked to respiratory complex activity and mitochondrial function. We discovered that O2 protects the mitoNEET [2Fe‐2S] cluster against NO oxidation and desensitization towards reduction by H2S.

GII.4 Human Norovirus: Surveying the Antigenic Landscape

open access: yesViruses, 2019
Human norovirus is the leading cause of viral acute onset gastroenteritis disease burden, with 685 million infections reported annually. Vulnerable populations, such as children under the age of 5 years, the immunocompromised, and the elderly show a need
