Effect of HIV infection and antiretroviral therapy on hepatitis B virus (HBV)-specific T cell responses in patients who have resolved HBV infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Coinfection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a common occurrence in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)–positive patients and an increasing cause of morbidity and mortality.

Immunomodulation by imiquimod in patients with high-risk primary melanoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Imiquimod is a synthetic Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) agonist approved for the topical treatment of actinic keratoses, superficial basal cell carcinoma, and genital warts.

Identification of Theileria lestoquardi Antigens Recognized by CD8+ T Cells. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
As part of an international effort to develop vaccines for Theileria lestoquardi, we undertook a limited screen to test T. lestoquardi orthologues of antigens recognised by CD8+ T lymphocyte responses against T. annulata and T. parva in cattle.

An Approach for a Synthetic CTL Vaccine Design against Zika Flavivirus Using Class I and Class II Epitopes Identified by Computer Modeling

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2017
The threat posed by severe congenital abnormalities related to Zika virus (ZKV) infection during pregnancy has turned development of a ZKV vaccine into an emergency.

Enhanced Intracellular Dissociation of Major Histocompatibility Complex Class I–associated Peptides: A Mechanism for Optimizing the Spectrum of Cell Surface–Presented Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte Epitopes

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1997
Association of antigenic peptides with newly synthesized major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules occurs in the endoplasmic reticulum and is a critical early step for the initiation of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL)-mediated immune defenses.

Identification of cytotoxic T‐lymphocyte epitope(s) and its agonist epitope(s) of a novel target for vaccine therapy (PAGE4) [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, 2007
AbstractPAGE4 is an X chromosome‐linked cancer testis antigen and is a potential new tumor‐associated antigen that is overexpressed in prostate and uterine cancers. The purpose of this study was to identify a human CTL epitope and a corresponding agonist epitope of PAGE4 to determine if PAGE4 is a potential target for vaccine‐mediated immunotherapy ...

Heat shock proteins may be a missing link between febrile infection and cancer tumor rejection via autoantigen molecular mimicry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Numerous epidemiological studies suggest febrile infections could confer long-term immunity to certain types of cancers, though the precise mechanisms for this phenomenon remain unclear. Systemic heat-shock responses to fever may be key to understanding the overlapping outcomes of immune responses to infection and cancer. To investigate this hypothesis,

An investigation of the breadth of neutralising antibody response in cats naturally infected with feline immunodeficiency virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Neutralising antibodies (NAbs) are believed to comprise an essential component of the protective immune response induced by vaccines against FIV and HIV infections.

Recognition of distinct epitopes on the HLA-A2 antigen by cytotoxic T lymphocytes

open access: yesHuman Immunology, 1986
Alloimmune CTLs specifically recognizing the HLA-A2.3 subtype could be made besides the previously described HLA-A2.1 and A2.2 subtype-specific CTLs. Examination of the fine specificity of 15 different CTLs directed against distinct HLA-A2 subtypes demonstrated further complexity of antigenic epitopes present on the A2 molecule.
