Renal epoxyeicosatrienoic acid synthesis during pregnancy [PDF]
Epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs), which belong to cytochrome P-450 (CYP)-derived eicosanoids, have been implicated to vasodilate renal arterioles, inhibit sodium transport in the nephron, and regulate blood pressure in several animal models. Because pregnancy is associated with changes of blood pressure, the aim of this study was to examine whether ...

Aims CYP2C19 is one of the most important pharmacogenes, and its activity is highly variable due to factors such as genetics or drug–drug interactions. Due to the lack of an appropriate endogenous CYP2C19 biomarker, surrogate methods to assess its activity are warranted.

Eicosanoid Profile of Influenza A Virus Infected Pigs
Respiratory tract infections caused by the Influenza A virus (IAV) are a worldwide problem for human and animal health. Within this study, we analyzed the impact of IAV infection on the immune-related lipidome (eicosanoids) of the pig as new infection ...

Metabolome Diversity Enhances Resistance of Intertidal Clams to Thermal Stress
Meretrix species are widely distributed intertidal bivalves in China with significant ecological and economic importance, which are sensitive to thermal stress. Our results showed that thermal environments of clam habitats shaped metabolome diversity, which can enhance the resistance of intertidal clams to thermal stress.
