CARACTERIZACIÓN DEL ESTRÉS OXIDATIVO EN RATAS WISTAR DIABÉTICAS POR ESTREPTOZOTOCINA OXIDATIVE STRESS CARACTERIZATION IN STREPTOZOTOCIN-DIABETIC WISTAR RATS

open access: yesVitae, 2009
La diabetes es un trastorno metabólico crónico de gran alcance epidemiológico. Numerosos estudios han demostrado que la diabetes mellitus se encuentra asociada al incremento de la formación de radicales libres derivados del oxígeno y a la disminución del

Use of a Molecular Signature Response Classifier to Inform Treatment Selection Improves Clinical Disease Activity Among Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis Initiating a Biologic or Targeted Synthetic Disease‐Modifying Antirheumatic Drug

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We assessed the effectiveness of PrismRA to improve clinical outcomes among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) initiating treatment with a biologic or targeted synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drug (b/tsDMARD). Methods PrismRA incorporated 19 gene expression features and four clinical features to assess a patient's likelihood of

HISTOMORPHOLOGICAL PECULIARITIES OF THE PANCREATIC PARENCHYMA IN RATS WITH ALLOXAN-INDUCED DIABETES OF DIFFERENT DURATION

open access: yesНеонатологія, хірургія та перинатальна медицина
The study of pathohistological and morphofunctional changes in the endocrine pancreas is an integral part of experimental diabetology, which allows obtaining a signifi cant amount of information on various aspects of the etiology and pathogenesis of ...

Clinical Significance of Therapeutic Drug Level Monitoring for Mycophenolate in Patients With Extrarenal Systemic Lupus Erythematosus—A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Clinical response to mycophenolic acid (MPA) is highly heterogeneous; thus, therapeutic drug level monitoring (TDM) may help improve treatment efficacy. This systematic review and meta‐analysis examined therapeutic ranges for MPA levels associated with better outcomes and safety in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE ...

Tissue‐Stimulator Platform for Electrically Stimulating Pancreatic β‐Cells for Long‐Term Functional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Renal hypertrophy in experimental diabetes mellitus

open access: yesKidney International, 1983
The kidney changes seen in rats shortly after the induction of experimental diabetes were reviewed: Kidney weight increases by 15 to 20% during the first 4 to 5 days of diabetes and by 70 to 90% after some weeks. GFR increases after a lag-time of some days in parallel to kidney weight.

Malectin Alleviates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus via Glycoprotein Quality Control Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.
