Chemoenzymatic Synthesis of ABC-Type Enantiostructured Triacylglycerols by the Use of the p-Methoxybenzyl Protective Group

open access: yesMolecules
This report demonstrates the first asymmetric synthesis of enantiopure structured triacylglycerols (TAGs) of the ABC type presenting three non-identical fatty acids, two of which are unsaturated. The unsaturated fatty acids included monounsaturated oleic

Effect of gamma irradiation on fatty acid composition of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fillets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of low-dose gamma irradiation (0, 1, 3 and 5 kGy) on fatty acid composition of Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fillet. Among all of the fatty acids, oleic acid (C18:1) (with mean 33.50±3.02 g/100

Bioinspired Design of Heterogenous Single‐Atomic‐Site Catalysts for Electrocatalysis and Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review gives a summary on the representative bioinspired single‐atomic‐site catalysts (SACs) and their applications in heterogeneous electrocatalysis and photocatalysis. The fundamentals of bioinspired design strategies are systematically discussed in the context of the first shell coordination, the second/long‐range coordination, and the outer ...

Plasma fatty acid profile comparisons between the lesser mouse deer (Tragulus javanicus) and the common muntjac (Muntiacus muntjak) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The Lesser Mouse Deer and the Common Muntjac are native to the South-east Asian region. The main aim of this study was to compare the extent of plasma fatty acid unsaturation between these two species.

UCP2 Upregulates ACSL3 to Enhance Lipid Droplet Release from Acinar Cells and Modulates the Sirt1/Smad3 Pathway to Promote Macrophage‐to‐Myofibroblast Transition in Chronic Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
These findings suggest that UCP2 promotes LD formation and release in acinar cells by upregulating ACSL3 expression. This alteration in the local lipid metabolic environment indirectly drives the MMT process. Additionally, UCP2 may regulate the acetylation of Smad3 through Sirt1, enhancing its nuclear activity and activating the TGF‐β/ Smad3 signaling ...

Determination of Fatty Acid in Asparagus by Gas Chromatography

open access: yesİstanbul Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dergisi, 2016
Asparagus contain a lot of macronutrients and micronutrients including folate, dietary fibre (soluble and insoluble) and phenolic compounds. Also asparagus is a good source of unsaturated linoleic and linolenic fatty acids which are precursors for ...

The hypoxic transcription factor KlMga2 mediates the response to oxidative stress and influences longevity in the yeast Kluyveromyces lactis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Hypoxia is defined as the decline of oxygen availability, depending on environmental supply and cellular consumption rate. The decrease in O2 results in reduction of available energy in facultative aerobes.

Homeostasis of Gut Microbiota Protects against Susceptibility to Fungal Pneumonia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fungal pneumonia induces inflammation, shown by heightened IL‐6, IL‐1β, TNF‐α levels and a growth in Staphylococcus in the alveolar flora. The gut microbiota, acting through the gut‐lung axis via blood, impacts fungal pneumonia susceptibility by altering lung metabolism and inflammatory responses.

Okanin Suppresses the Growth of Colorectal Cancer Cells by Targeting at Peroxiredoxin 5

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Okanin suppresses colorectal cancer growth by directly targeting PRDX5. This natural compound selectively binds peroxiredoxin 5 (PRDX5), inhibiting its activity and inducing WSB1‐mediated degradation. PRDX5 loss elevates ROS, suppresses GPX4 via SIAH2, and further triggers cell death (apoptosis and ferroptosis).

Вплив світла різного спектрального складу на жирнокислотні профілі мікроскопічних грибів, виділених із зони відчуження Чорнобильської АЕС [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The fatty-acid profiles of microscopic fungi isolated from highly radioactive and non-radioactive substrates and the influence of light with different spectral distributions on these profiles are studied.
