Presence of Volatile Fatty Acids in Bovine Semen.
SummaryConcentrations of 0.79-2.50 meq of volatile fatty acids per 100 ml were found in pooled ejaculates of bovine semen. Acetic and formic acids were identified as the major volatile fatty acid constituents by column chromatography, paper chromatography and selective oxidation of the formic acid.

Production of 2-pentanone, a methylketone, is increased in fasting ketotic humans. Its origin is unknown. We hypothesised that it is formed via β-oxidation of hexanoic acid by the peroxisomal pathway proposed for methylketone-producing fungi and yeasts ...

ABSTRACT The US hemp market is a new and nascent industry that has been devoid of research for about half a century. This study examined the effects of exogenous shock on price at each phase of the value chain—Farm (hemp biomass), and its impact on prices at other phases of the value chain—Intermediary Processor (crude cannabidiol hemp) and Final ...

Epoxy and hydroxy fatty acids as non-volatile lipid oxidation products in oat [PDF]
The aim of the study was to investigate the occurrence and formation of peroxygenase catalysed non-volatile oxidised fatty acids (NVOFAs), especially epoxy and hydroxy fatty acids, which potentially provide off-flavours in oat.

A practical electrodialysis model for accelerating system development
Abstract Empirical optimization of electrodialysis (ED) is dependent on repetitive experiments with incremental adjustments, which is cost prohibitive at scale. While models can reduce the costs associated with optimization and scale‐up, existing ED models are limited in application to specific use cases and tend to be developed for the exploration of ...
