FK506-Binding Proteins and Their Diverse Functions [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Molecular Pharmacology, 2015
FK506 binding proteins (FKBPs) are a family of highly conserved proteins in eukaryotes. The prototype of this protein family, FKBP12, is the binding partner for immunosuppressive drugs FK506 and rapamycin. FKBP12 functions as a cis/trans peptidyl prolyl isomerase (PPIase) that catalyzes interconversion between prolyl cis/trans conformations. Members of

Protective effect of FK506 combined with hypothermic mechanical perfusion on donor liver of rats [PDF]

open access: yesJichu yixue yu linchuang, 2021
Objective To investigate the protective effects of FK506 combined with low temperature mechanical perfusion on the reduction of ischemia reperfusion injury of rat liver transplants. Methods SD rats were divided into HTK group and FK506 + HTK group.

Glucocorticoids and HPA axis regulation in the stress–obesity connection: A comprehensive overview of biological, physiological and behavioural dimensions

open access: yesClinical Obesity, Volume 15, Issue 2, April 2025.
Summary Chronic stress, characterized by increased long‐term exposure to the glucocorticoid hormone cortisol, is increasingly linked to obesity development. Still, various knowledge gaps persist, including on underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. The aim of the current review is to provide the latest insights on the connection between stress and ...

CKAP4 Regulates ERS‐Induced Apoptosis in Osteoclasts Through FOXO3 in Periodontitis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
CKAP4 promotes the transcription of PERK via FOXO3 in OCs, thereby facilitating ER stress‐induced apoptosis. In periodontitis, the reduction of CKAP4 in OCs leads to decreased OC apoptosis, which exacerbates alveolar bone resorption. ABSTRACT Periodontitis is a prevalent oral disease characterised by chronic inflammation and irreversible alveolar bone ...

NMR assignments of the FK506-binding domain of FK506-binding protein 35 from Plasmodium vivax

open access: yes, 2009
PvFKBP35 is a member of the FK506 binding protein family (FKBP) from Plasmodium vivax. The FK506- binding domain of PvFKBP35 shows a canonical peptidylprolyl cis–trans isomerase (PPIase) activity.

ER Stress via CHOP Pathway is Involved in FK506-Induced Apoptosis in Rat Fibroblasts

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2016
Background/Aims: Hypertrophic scars (HS) formation results from reduced apoptosis and increased proliferation of fibroblasts. Therefore, apoptosis of fibroblasts is a key target for the development of novel therapeutic strategies for HS. Previous reports

PLIN5 Protects Against Ang II‐Induced Podocyte Lipotoxicity by Interacting With FKBP8 and Preserving Lipid Droplet–Mitochondria Contact

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
PLIN5‐FKBP8 tethers lipid droplets to mitochondria to counteract Ang II‐induced lipotoxicity. ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) remains a major global health challenge. Angiotensin II (Ang II)‐induced lipotoxicity is an important contributor to podocyte injury.

Image_3_Role of FK506-sensitive signals in asthmatic lung inflammation.tif

open access: yes, 2022
Asthma is airway inflammatory diseases caused by the activation of group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) and type 2 helper T (TH2) cells. Cysteine proteases allergen cause tissue damage to airway epithelial cells and activate ILC2-mediated type 2 airway ...

From biology to biotechnology: Host‐regulation factors from parasitoid wasps are a source of bioactive molecules with translational potential

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, EarlyView.
Parasitoid wasps deploy maternal and embryonic factors to reprogramme host physiology. Venom, calyx fluid, polydnaviruses, teratocytes and larval secretions act in a coordinated, compartmentalised manner. Host‐regulation factors are promising sources of insecticidal, antimicrobial and bioinspired translational molecules.
