Treatment With Calcineurin Inhibitor FK506 Attenuates Noise-Induced Hearing Loss
Attenuation of noise-induced hair cell loss and noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) by treatment with FK506 (tacrolimus), a calcineurin (CaN/PP2B) inhibitor used clinically as an immunosuppressant, has been previously reported, but the downstream ...

Caspofungin heteroresistance is prevalent in clinical Candida glabrata isolates and depends on calcineurin‐mediated stress adaptation. This transient phenotype serves as a reservoir for resistance evolution, enabling the emergence of stable resistant descendants under prolonged drug pressure.

The Mechanism of Action of Cyclosporin A and FK506
The immunosuppressants cyclosporin A (CsA), FK506, and rapamycin suppress the immune response by inhibiting evolutionary conserved signal transduction pathways. CsA, FK506, and rapamycin bind to their intracellular receptors, immunophilins, creating composite surfaces that block the activity of specific targets.

FK506はオートファジーを活性化することで異常型プリオンタンパクの分解を促進し、プリオン感染マウスの生存期間を延長する
Prion diseases are fatal neurodegenerative disorders and no effective treatment has been established to date. In this study, we evaluated the effect of FK506 (tacrolimus), a macrolide that is known to be a mild immunosuppressant, on prion infection ...

Immune-mediated graft rejection (IMGR) remains a leading cause of corneal transplant (CT) failure in high-risk cases. While transcorneal delivery of tacrolimus (FK506) is a promising strategy, the cornea’s barrier properties severely limit FK506′s ...

Porcine kidney xenotransplantation: From primate models to clinical reality
In the face of a critical shortage of human donor kidneys for end‐stage renal disease patients, porcine kidney xenotransplantation has emerged as a viable solution. This field has navigated major hurdles, including immune rejection, physiological incompatibilities, potential biomechanical differences and the risk of cross‐species infection. To overcome

Inhibition of Cytokine Production and Cytokine-Stimulated T-Cell Activation by FK506 (Tacrolimus)1
Insofar as it exerted its immunosuppressive effect by inhibiting cytokine expression, we assessed the effect of FK506 (Tacrolimus) on cytokine-stimulated T-cell activation.

Effects of FK506-binding Protein 12 and FK506 on Autophosphorylation of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor [PDF]
FK506-binding proteins and cyclophilins are intracellular proteins that express peptidylproline cis-trans-isomerase (PPIase) activity. The effects of FK506-binding protein 12 (FKBP12) and the cyclophilins 18 and 23 on autophosphorylation of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor prepared from plasma membranes of the human epidermoid cell line A431 ...
