Association Between Dietary Anthocyanidin Intake and Thyroid Autoimmunity: A Cross‐Sectional Study From NHANES (2007–2010)

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Despite extensive documentation of the immunomodulatory effects of anthocyanidins, population‐based epidemiological studies have yet to elucidate their association with thyroid autoimmunity (TAI). Methods Using flavonoid intake data from the Flavonoid and Anthocyanidin Database (FNDDS) and 2007–2010 National Health and Nutrition ...

South African Herbal Teas and Diabetes‐Mediated Mitochondrial Dysfunction: Emerging Evidence and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a central component of the metabolic syndrome (MetS) and is associated with underlying mitochondrial dysfunction. Disruption of mitochondrial homeostasis impairs cellular energy metabolism and contributes to the overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to oxidative stress, chronic inflammation,
